Creedence Clearwater Revival - Proud Mary

#CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival is undeniably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, with an instantly recognizable, raw, bayou sound, popularized in songs like "Proud Mary" and "Green River”. Since their formation in the 1960s, CCR has sold over 50 million records, while their songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio.

Though the band only released 7 studio albums in their too-short career, Creedence had an astonishing track record: eight consecutive gold singles ("Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," "Lookin' Out My Back Door," "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?") and eight consecutive gold albums. With music that sounds as fresh and compelling today as it did 30 years ago, CCR is one of a handful of bands whose entire body of work has attained true "classic" status.

Some people are born to do things. John was born to sing, imagine a world without this man's powerful voice.

Everyone did this song including Elvis, but no one did it better than CCR.

My sister's favorite Group of all time. She died of cancer on May 23rd 2004. She loved this song. Driving her '69 Chevelle. Thank You CCR for giving her joy in her short life. Her name WAS Joy! I'm a FAN as well, her younger brother. Just Thank You if you only knew. You Give peace to people who have terminal cancer, at least to my sister. I have her albums she had of you from back in the day. They are with me. Again I love you guys. For the sound my Sister loved so much! Be Blessed

For those wondering, the musicians are lead and backing vocalist-lead guitarist-harpist John Fogerty, rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford.

One of the greatest songs ever made, this perfect example of awesome late 60s rock, luv listening to this over and over again,
especially through real headphones.

Left a good job in the city
Working for The Man every night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleeping
Worrying 'bout the way things might have been

Big wheel keep on turning
Proud Mary, keep on burning

Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis
Pumped a lot of pane down in New Orleans
But I never saw the good side of the city
Until I hitched a ride on a river boat queen

Big wheel keep on turning
Proud Mary, keep on burning

Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

If you come down to the river
Bet you gonna find some people who live
You don't have to worry, 'cause you have no money
People on the river are happy to give

Big wheel keep on turning
Proud Mary, keep on burning

Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river
Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river
Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river

Proud Mary - Creedence Clearwater Revival (1969)
Peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Hot 100 Billboard in March 1969
How did this Band miss ever having a No. 1 Single on the U.S. Hot 100 Billboard from 1969 to 1971? One of the Biggest Crimes in U.S. Hot 100 Billboard Chart History. i mean John Fogerty wrote most of the Songs including this one the Band recorded.

My Grandfather was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and they played this song on a radio while they're riding on the AH-01 Cobra.

Highest commendation is for someone like Dylan to say he'd wished he'd written it. Ride on John, ride on.
