You prefer to make live miserable for those paying taxes while working in the tax, rather than stopping the boats and sending the illegal migrants back home? You will lose people investing in the UK and that is it.

Says the woman who got her own British citizenship because her mother popped over for her free NHS birth before flying back to Nigeria. Now she is leading a British political party and could end up running the whole country, what a joke !

She doesn't mean what she's saying, and it's simply not realistic. Skilled workers hardly ever rely on the British benefits system. They also don't get free access to the NHS - they pay an NHS health surcharge of £1, 035 per year, in addition to extra prescription charges. The real issue lies with illegal immigrants, but she's focusing on the wrong target for publicity. The Tories, as a globalist party, strongly support initiatives like the Tier 1 visa program, which allows skilled professionals and entrepreneurs to settle in the UK in 2 to 3 years, helping make the country a leader in tech. The irony lies in her own immigration history.

She is cruel towards skilled legal migrants that abides the law and had not taken advantage of the system and pays tax, but soft towards illegal migrants that do not integrate with UK and lives good lives. She is no fit as a leader at all. She does not know what she is talking about. I lost my respect for her, absolutely.

So essentially what Kemi is saying is that getting a British citizenship is damn too easy especially for people who came into the UK to do low-wage jobs.

Listening to her further on GB News this morning, she actually means many people working in the health and social care sector or as we call it people doing "care jobs".

She moaned that in a few years time, these people and their dependants who came to the UK would be eligible for ILR and citizenship.

Now, hang in there.

There are thousands and thousands of people illegally crossing the Channel Island into the UK who go on to start benefitting from public funds via hotel accommodation, feeding and hand-out as soon as they arrive.

But Kemi is worried about people doing the critical job of looking after the vulnerable people in the society, paying their taxes and receiving no public funds.

These people looked after the sick and old people during the COVID pandemic and were so that important the government she was part of made a special openings to let them come into the country to help.

Kemi Badenoch feels that these are not "net contributors" to the UK and would be getting the British citizenship on the cheap after 6 years of working hard, paying taxes, renewing visas at high costs and not getting any benefit from government.

I think this is an unpalatable comment towards hardworking people in the critical care sector which undermines their roles and diminishes their contributions during one of the world's most devasting pandemics.

If professionals have to keep working for 10 years to settle with ILR, then, they have a choice to move to other countries that will make them settle fast. All the nurses and Doctors in NHS would leave in their thousands... Many other professionals will leave. This is misplaced. Deport illigel immigrants, stop the boats and allow the legal migrants who keep struggling even after ILR to contribute their quota to this country. Kemi failed woefully on this.

This is funny that someone whose mother came in as a legal or ilegal immigrant who probably did not work or who probably did minor job to contribute to the society is saying this

The country is under pressure due to majority of people being on benefits and not contributing to the society ? And majority of the people playing the system are actually British? This is so racist to assume this is because of immigrants working and paying tax and ACTUALLY adding to the society?

Sure, go ahead. See how healthcare, technology and other govt agencies get crippled when International educated professional decided bring their skills&business somewhere else.

Any Dr., Scientist, Engr., Architect who will wait for 15yrs just to get Brit Citizenship? Where AU, The US, Canada and other sought after countries offered Permanent Residency upon arrival of these Professionals.

BTW, where is your Origin? Coming from you? Really?

The Conservatives have completely missed the point here! The issue isn’t with legal immigrants—it’s about tackling illegal immigration. Even Donald Trump focused on illegal immigration, because the U.S. understands the importance of skilled legal immigrants. By imposing a 15-year waiting process, do they honestly believe the UK is so attractive that talented individuals will stick around and wait?

Her mother saw it as a right. Dont forget she is a NHS tourist baby who spent her informative years in her mother country. I am offended that an non native woman speaks to me about what my country should do about this invasion.

If this will be applied to all immigrants, no high skilled migrant will ever come. Even businessesmen will think twice.

How about don't allow anyone into this country for next 5 years so you spend time building new infrastructure to accommodate this most infrastructure and housing in this country is very old
