Twin Block Appliance (Edge Animation)

This twin block appliance is most commonly used for children who are still growing and undergoing Phase I orthodontic treatment, which is treatment at an early age when both baby teeth and permanent teeth are present.

The appliance serves multiple purposes which includes: orthopedically widening the palate (upper jaw), repositioning the lower jaw forward to promote forward growth (which also reduces excessive overjet), as well as increasing dental height which reduces severe overbite.

The appliance is worn 24 hours a day, with removal only to clean. A patient must wear it while eating and also while sleeping.
