Smash the Patriarchy? | Examining Society's Obsession with Diminishing Men

We recently watched the viral video of Taylor Swift shouting her decade old but infamous lyric "F-the Patriarchy" in front of a crowd of more than 88,000 people, many of whom were women and/or young adults. This inspired quite a long and somewhat emotional debate between Cherry and I, leading to this video we are sharing with you today.

We explore this topic of Patriarchy today and what it used to mean vs what it has evolved to mean in today's society and ask ourselves why the world is so obsessed with diminishing men?

What's strange is when some women say "down with the patriarchy" but still want to marry a masculine men who will provide for them. It's cognitive dissonance if you ask me.

It’s so convenient that it’s “down with the patriarchy” AFTER all the buildings, houses, roads, infrastructure etc already exists. Which men built! 😂 women build internally (babies) men build externally and both are extremely important and divinely designed. And so much stronger working together in harmony.

I was challenged at my workplace about being happily married. By a group of man hating women and a lesbian. Every single on of those 'ladies' just about fell over when my husband came to pick me up, and literally did, he swopped me off my feet and they all, including the lesbian, said I was a very lucky woman. I am. However, I respect my husband and all men and they therefore treat me like the lady I am, and they want me to continue to be. My daughters are 'lucky' they are told to have men who adore them. Luck has nothing to do with it. Men want to be respected, admired and to be able to be strong and masculine men. I and my daughters LET THEM. God Bless Men.

Honestly it’s sad how society has come to bashing men and masculinity. From the beginning of time men and women were made to work together, that is how we thrive and grow. This whole women hating men and men hating women is completely toxic.

If we aren't taught from our earliest years, as the old children's song warns, ‘to be careful about what our eyes see and our ears hear, ’ and for many hours in the day we sit at the altar of media: television, computers and now even our phones, which allows negative and harmful influences to embed themselves into our daily routines, sadly, this phenomenon has the power, especially in modern society, to affect individuals from childhood through adulthood, and subtly 'programs' us.
