WPIX Channel 11 Pix-Pix-Pix Phone From Home Video Game

Kids of the 70s and 80s will remember this. Callers called in ... and had to say "pix" to shoot a bullet to hit a box target. The graphics were sub-Atari 2600 ... but it's impossible not to look at this and not recall how much fun this once was to watch on a daily basis.

I totally remember this on channel 11 after school. I think 1980 was when it started. The secrect to winning was saying Pixx as fast as you could. I saw one kid do it that way. He must have said the word a hunred times. I don't remember the prizes either but it was certainly something.

Some kids use to call in to play, & they would  rapidly say - "PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX., PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX, Over & over again !! lol lol

This is how I found out what a s.a.s.e was lol. I remember the football version of the pix game but sadly can't find it anywhere. Great memories! Also loved the earlier comments of "muhyeeeaah I still say that and love that people remember it. "It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your children are?" Is another great memory.

I have this game! It’s Shooting Gallery, Videocart 2 on the Fairchild Channel F. My Mom and I were talking about this recently, telling me about a game she remembers that was played on WPIX TV (channel 11) station. I believed the game (and console) itself was released in 1976.

i was having a retro moment & thought about this game. it also reminds me of the 'million-dollar movie' where they'd play whatever film & the theme from 'Gone with the Wind' would tell you it was time. Also, remember this? 'It's 5 o'clock. Do you know where your children are?'

A bit of trivia for you. TV Pixx was sponsered by Matel Electronics, creators of Intelevision. PIX used a special Intelivision system, which had voice controllers. That's how the caller was able to control the game and play TV Pixx.

Ah yes, the memories. PIX 11 should bring this back to run during the CW4Kids block on Saturday mornings. The kids today would love this.
