The CDC says that racism fuels health disparities in the U.S. So much so that the agency declared racism a serious threat to public health in the last year, finally addressing what many communities of color have known for generations. Doctor Lynne Richardson, the co-director of the Mount Sinai Institute for Health Equity Research spoke to PIX 11 about the ways that structural racism affects health care and what can be done to address it.
