➡Is Elon really playing an infinite game? And is GM MANAGEMENT really trying to save the company, or are they milking it dry ahead of the next bailout or bankrupcty? LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!

I had a saying at the fortune 100 company before I retired. We were drowning in managers and starving for leadership.

I once took a business development class. Part of that class was a computer simulation of running a business. For the first 3 quarters, I ran that business with the long view, investing heavily in research and development and physical plant. As my costs came down, I split the profit between price reduction and more R&D. I watched my profits continue to rise as my competition fell further behind on price and quality. I was taking some losses to good will because the demand for my product exceeded production. If it were an infinite game, I'm sure that the other companies would have gone bankrupt.
But, it wasn't an infinite game. It only went 4 quarters.
The final quarter, I gutted R&D, raised my prices. Since net profit was the only measure of success, I dominated.
Real life is an infinite game. If the simulation had no predetermined end point, my move on the last quarter would have been suicide. If the game measured anything other than net profit, my last quarter tactic would have cost me in product quality and customer satisfaction.
Moral of the story? If next quarter profit is all you care about, you will go out of business.

When does Elon’s reach stops. He runs a few different Companies now, and he was asked by Trump to help out and he is happy to accept. He is already so busy with his projects and to me, it is incredible he be thinking that he has time to help budgeting the Government by looking at their way of spending, Elon, you have to be an Alliance, no one I’ve ever heard of has the mental& physical strength to be like you. God Bless you for choosing our Country to do what you do. Thank you.

Mary Barra had a partnership with Nikola for a pickup. They had a partnership with Lordstown. They bought Cruise. Their judgement on where the market is going and who can add value has been awful for a long time.

Mary is working on padding her retirement. She and her team are running GM into the ground. Staggering to watch from the outside.

To be fair, she probably believes that the feds will bail them out again rather than let them fail. It will be an interesting series of events to watch.

If we look at Starlink, it already has 200k users in Australia. We keep seeing smaller and better and more mobile antenna’s on vehicles in North America. Could there be a point where Starlink is on every Tesla vehicle, and Megapack? Think of how much data it could read from those, to improve the growth rate…

I nearly did not watch this video because it is 49.21 long, thankfully I did - I am very glad I did - this is a seminar on how to run an organisation and how Elon Musk manages to run all his companies. This is a great video.

That why you become a billionaire, not to wallow around in money but to manifest it into something positive on a scale that will move humanity forward.

Managers vs. Leaders is a huge deal, especially when an industry is being disrupted.
Having an infinite mindset is also key; Simon Sinek has done a great job with his insights.

Elon is a fascinating person and practically the only genius in the US.

Terrific as usual. You put into words some very important aspects that are helpful in understanding Elon as well as understanding how to operate a company.

I have worked all my life in local government, much of that in strategic planning. But my degree is in engineering. Typically planners think, plan and work in 5-10 year horizons. More recently, that has expanded to 20 -25 year horizons. Planning is basically about orderly development associated with population growth. Zone enough land to allow for housing, employment and open space for communities to use. As an engineer with asset management background I can tell you that the average house will last about 75 years. Medium density has an asset life of 75-125 years and high density will last more like 125-175 years. If you think about it, most of us have never seen a 30 storey commercial or residential building demolished and replaced in our lifetime. So what is the point of even 25 year planning if the simplest product you allow for will be still standing for 3X of your planning timeframe? It makes zero sense. I have tried to convince planners to think well beyond their short term horizons without fail. So much of our businesses and government leaders are short term managers. It never used to be that way.

Excellent understanding of what TESLA is and Musk’s 1000 year plan. **Tesla workers make ~ $20/ hour, and their** pay is based all upon the STOCK PRICE and how much they have.- Joe Justice, former TESLA employee. Elon has a 1000 year plan. Excellent video.

Years ago I read this book by Frank Tipler, who has a joint appointment in the department of physics and mathematics at Tulane University, titled the “Physics Of Immortality” reducing humans to software housed in a biological casing. He maintained that our survival is contingent on our ability to populate other planets through somehow sustaining and maintaining our mental self, our memories, in a coded computer form, sort of what Musk is attempting with Neurolink. Musk must have read this book.

If I don’t like something Musk is doing I say so. I think he listens to criticism. I do think he’s already thought so far ahead that he knows his critics will catch up and understand later. That has happened. Tesla is a great example of that. He’s so far ahead of most that when you finally understand and say Oh damn he was right he’s already miles down the road doing something else.

Another fantastic video, well done, i really appreciate the effort you put into these as you're one of the few resources focussing on visionaries like Elon, and the demise of legacy businesses like GM, etc.
