"My heart and actions are utterly unclouded..."

"They are those of justice!"

Imagine coming back and listening to this song for nostalgia and you just see the comment section talking about Jojo, the president and a crippled man fighting, and Jesus in the same sentences

This song makes me feel happy, it makes me feel patriotic, like my heart and actions are those of justice.

Crippled man.
The president.
And Jesus.

I am a 62 year old white man grew up in the South. My childhood in summer was get up early on Saturday do any chores I needed to do then watch Soul Train on my tiny black and white TV. After Soul Train ended it was time for Baseball Game of The Week, I grew up dirt poor had nothing but great great memories from the entire decade of the 1970s. It was an interesting decade to be a kid in. Not perfect by any stretch but we had great music from all genre. I wouldnt trade it for anything.

Honestly, this song is so good. I’d always listen to it when I felt the whole world was against me, and helped me get through so rough times. It’s like all the misfortune in my life was redirected elsewhere.

If this song doesn’t give you it should. The definition of “feel good” music.

Just finished reading SBR, but even if this song was never referenced, it's a bop on it's own. Just shows how Araki has fantastic taste in music and it helps younger generations get exposed to such great songs.

Glad these moments of history were recorded for future generations to see and enjoy

Happy Birthday to Eddie Levert, longtime member and co-lead singer of the legendary O'Jays, born June 16th, 1942. On June 16, 2024 he celebrated his 82nd birthday. By any measure, the O'Jays are one of the most important Soul Music groups of all-time. Whether delivering funky dance music, romantic ballads, or thoughtful social commentary in song

I have “feelings” of “patriotism.” Every action I have performed was because I judged it to be “absolutely” for this country’s sake!

Amazing how nothing has changed decades later. The lyrics are written precisely for today.

To all my fellow Brothers and Sisters out there who grew up poor and watched this when it originally came out, on a black and white tv, peace and love.

I am 58 year old white man and I say this that is the very essence of talent and the best time of my life was Saturday morning and getting this kind of greatness at no charge Damn I miss it
