A simple updated mini rebranded as an SE would be baller

I recommended this to my mother back when it was new. She bought it and had no problems with it until she lost it. She promptly went out and bought another SE2.

I updated from my iPhone 12 pro max to an se3 six months back. I could not be happier.

I have the SE 3 as my company phone and I unexpectedly like that I can type with one hand. I used to have a 7 Plus before that and that was simply perfect in size. If there would be an SE+, I'd buy it no matter what.

I kept my iPhone 6 as a backup when I bought an XR. When the 6 stopped getting software updates I bought an SE-2 as the backup. It was fine, almost exactly like the 6. I upgraded to the iPhone 13 and decided the SE 2020 was no longer a good backup. I traded it for the 13 Mini. This is a great phone. Apple should use the Mini platform for the next SE.

I still remember watching iPhone X launch event and being amazed when they showed the gesture navigation. I had an S8+ at the time and always felt like there was something wrong with having software buttons for navigation because it takes away that full screen experience that they were going for. I didn’t like the notch but gestures were definitely my favorite thing about the iPhone X redesign.

My 80yr old dad got suckered into upgrading his iPhone 6s to an iPhone 13 at the store. He couldn’t figure out gestures at all no matter how much I taught him. I just traded my 8+ for his 13. He’s happy now as it all seems familiar to him. But this just goes to show that apple should keep making iPhones with home buttons for the older generation that can’t move on from it.

You might be talking about clicking just to talk about something on a video, but in all actuality viewers, this phone doesn’t make any clicking sound at all just like the iPhone eight didn’t. It vibrates and does t make any noise doing it. I like my SE

I have had the SE 3 for 1 year and 1 month. Despite the battery being at 91% health I love the phone!

I love the SE 3 model its my 2nd iphone SE model to own which was the first gen and i use it as my company phone while working and go back to my regular android phone which is the Sony Xperia 1 iv so its pretty interesting to go back in forth with those phones... regardless of all that if you want the SE 2022 model i definitely recommend it.

My SE2 is what finally sucked me down the Apple ecosystem rabbit hole.😅 As a ardent Android fanboy since my first Motorola G1 I fought the good fight until I broke the screen on my Pixel 6 and couldn't stomach the screen replacement cost. Got the SE2 for free on a signup deal then switched over to Mint. That was last August and since then I have added a Mac Mini M1 (refurbished for $499), and iPad Pro 2018 and next up is coming a new Apple TV🤪

I went for a SE 2020 because I wanted a phone that was not so big so that it easier to hold in the hand (my hands are not that big) and it is easier to put in your pocket. At the time I bought it, its price was a little more than half the price of the iPhone 12 mini and for my usage it looked like the 12 did not bring much more to the table.

2.5 years later I do notice that I need to charge it a bit more often, but as long I don’t forget to do that whenever I’m out for a whole day without a charger there’s not really an issue. I just should only use it then when it’s needed and not to kill time with it. And then the battery could still be 40% at the end of the day (or higher if I used it less on average).

I feel like one of the only reasons to own an SE3 aside from “5G” is if you like the perfectly rectangular screen and would want to use it for as long as possible with updates to it for as long as possible. So really from about 2026 to 2028 it will hold true that the SE3 will be the last and only rectangular screened iPhone that is supported by the newest iOS. (The expected iOS support is 6 years so the SE2 will end support around 2026 and SE3 around 2028

Really wish there was an SE Plus in the 8 Plus design

The SE 2/3, Xr and 11 are really important as the only choices for the 10% of us who can’t use OLED due to PWM.
Drew, thanks for mentioning about that!👍🏼

Completely agree I think an ‘se plus’ in the form factor of an 8 plus would do very well. I’d certainly feel nostalgic about that phone even coming from a 14 pro lol

Gotta say I’m still happy with my 8 plus with a new battery. Still does all I want and yes, I love the 16:9 screen with no notch getting in the way!
