After watching all these comparisons I can say the difference between MGS:GZ on last-gen vs current-gen is the same as Crisis 3 on console vs high-end gaming PCs.

The major differences for both superior versions of the respective franchises included higher FPS, better AA, less LOD swapping (still happens on all systems whether you notice it or not), higher resolution textures and higher frame resolutions.
The more minor differences included a dynamic sky for PS4 version of MGS:GZ (including above list).
For the PC version of Crysis 3 the minor differences include reflective ripples in water and better lighting (including above list).

Neither of these games saw night and day jumps in graphics quality from system to system.
The jump from PS3/X360 to PS4/XB1 is like jumping from PS3/X360 to any high-end gaming PC in practice (even though high end PCs have much more power that may never be tapped properly for gaming).

Man holy shit It's hard to believe metal gear solid 5 ground zeros was made on Xbox 360 and PS3 with photorealistic graphics the fox engine is truly some of the best game engines of all time And I speak from personal experience this game looks amazing on both 360 and PS3 running at 720p 30 frames per second surprisingly they are both very well optimized with a very well consistent frame rate It hardly ever stutters Even in 2022 it still holds up graphically 😍

Lets see your 8 year old PC do hmm Pentium 4 2.8ghz, possible a gig of DDR3 ram, Maybe a Geforce 6800 with 256 meg onboard.

I like how everyone is saying PC is better, no shit it's going to be better, the consoles are what nine years old now? Take a top of the line PC from 2005 and it's going to run like crap too. The advantage PC has is that it can be upgraded when it can't maintain a playable frame rate. It's like saying that a Cadillac CTS-V is better than my 93 Cavalier 2.2 four cylinder, of course it is, it's not 20 years old and cost $70, 000.

PS3 has better texture filtering. PS3 sharper-x360 muddier.
X360 has better shadows. x360 Smooth vs PS3 sharp but too often too edgy.

The water and the light reflexion is much more reallistic in ps3.

This game's resolutions is sub 720p, 992x720p to be exact .For Ps3 and 360.I hate how they say it's running in 720p and it's not. There's still people out there that believes that their games ran in 1080p, not upscaled but native. Atleast now the real resolutions are told by media.

Just played the PS3 version and it look's good, didn't noticed fps drops at all and runs smooth. Cannot wait The Phantom Pain!

The most noticeable difference is the shadow detail. PS3 always was pretty bad at it, especially with multiplatform games. I don't give a sh1t anyways. Fox Engine kick asses no matter the console.

I feel the PS3 shades it JUST... However could we have a current gen v next gen comparison. Some videos I have seen so far don't convince me it's a massive step up at the moment

Essa 7° geração foi e é incrível, agora a nova geração por enquanto ainda não mostrou um jogo que não seja possível no Play3 e Xbox 360, só pequeníssimas melhorias, isso quando tem.

Why was the PS3 side so choppy? Does that mean the fps was lower or was it just this video?

let's go from worst to best! ps3 version has 720p and 30 fps variable, with falls of up to 20-15 fps, xbox 360 version is 720p and 30 fps max variables but the falls are a maximum of 23 fps, and then slower ps3, xbox one is 720p and 60 spiked and ps4 version 1080p and 60 fps spiked.

1:23 to 1:25 the shadows are better on Xbox more smooth, in PS3 its ugly, maybe anti aliasing is turned off lol
