Air activated brakes work differently to hydraulic brakes in cars. Air brakes can provide huge stopping power, but there is a slight delay between the pedal and the brakes simply because of the volume of air that has to flow. You can hear me hit the brakes a split second before the nose of the truck dips.

This was a late starting day for me because of access times for the bulk of my work, and as a result I only had a few hundred kilos of mixed recyclables on board. This gives the truck at this point a gross mass of about 14t, pretty far from what you'd be fully loaded Heavier days see me closer to 20t but you can carry more than this.

people need to wake up, its not like they dont know where they are going and cant plan in advance, thank god you weren't loaded.
