I would love to see the difference between this monitor and the imac! I love my imac, but I'm always open to a better quality screen.

Thanks, Mark.

Yeah, i can say or you can as well that the viewing angles on the Dell 2407WFP is just superb. I've tried looking at all possible angles and you can still see the screen. I'm not sure if the Apple 24" can do that but it would be pretty hard to beat it or get on par. Although the apple 24" has all these all round features such as isight and speakers, Dell has heaps connectivity which is best for what i think, a good monitor needs. Sure, speakers are included but are you really going to use them?

that depends on whether it's just led lighting to replace the CFL or localised led lighting which can light up individual area's/pixels. The localised one isn't very common

I dont have a seperate moniter, but based on the LED screen on my MBP (compared to other LCD monitors including iMac), Apple has used this technology well. The blacks are deep, colors are vibrant, and energy consumption is less than LCDs for the most part. Its super expensive but im sure that display is sweet.

@GabeZTV the imac has a bigger chin on it that holds the computer stuff inside it also this contains about half the parts of the imac so it will be around the same size for that reason also its bigger so it looks the same.

I have this monitor and I absolutely love it. I also have an iMac and the iMac's screen looks like crap when going from this one to the iMac.

I use a 21.5" Acer H213H that I got for $230 after taxes and it works amazingly. I use it for gaming daily and I just love it. It has inputs for DVI, HDMI, and VGA and has a built-in speaker. I just love the way this monitor makes games look on the full 1920X1080 HD resolution setting and I never run out of space on my desktop for all the little windows I have open.

Doesn't that suck that they just came out with the new gorgeous iMacs. They look amazing and they do have a better resolution than 1080p! Letting some movies run in full quality on these things. Sadly no Bluray still. love your show man keep up the work.

The newly released Dell 24" Ultrasharp U2410 using also an H-IPS Panel is the only competitor which is like almost $300 less than the 24" apple led cinema

I use a Acer H233H, and it is pretty decent. and i got it dirt cheap aswell..
i think you may be able to get better monitors, for a bit cheaper soldier. Maybe an HP one or something. They make AMAZING monitors.

I want to know how it compares to a TV.

I have mine hooked up to my TV in my living room.
And can not really tell difference between the TV and the cinema display. Looks same and stunning to me.

another LED monitor to consider is one I personally own. LG Flatron W248gL. It would be good to compare the LG with the Apple Cinema since they are both LED display and support the full 1080P HD. Some of the things off the bat, LG doesn't have a built in speaker nor USB, but it does compensate for HDMI and DVI support. And oww yea, Apple does have the built in Isight and mic which LG doesn't have. Good luck with your vids, I'm a fan.

I use a 23" HANNSPREE which is Best Buy's brand and I think it is a great monitor for $200. (I paid $180 on sale)

Specs...
5 ms response time; 15, 000:1 contrast ratio; 300 cd/m² brightness; 1920 x 1080 maximum resolution; 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles; HDMI and 15-pin D-sub inputs

If you want a lot of area for a decent price, definitely worth a look up at Best Buy.

NIce video as always,

J.R.

hey man just a quick question, do you get paid for doing these reviews? There's a lot of pretty nice expensive apple technology in that room!

i use my 40" Toshiba 1080p LCD HDTV with my macbook pro. after calibrating it, it looks amazing, and only cost me $599.99 before adding in tax (5% sales tax since i live in Virginia).

i was thinking about getting a cinema display but the price was way too high for how big it was. yea i love the quality, but i think my hdtv matches it, and its alot bigger. i had to get an adaptor to use it (minidisplay port to hdmi) but overall i love it.

I've had the 24" LED Apple display since Feb. I LOVE this screen! It died on me after three months, but Apple replaced it for me. I would get the Apple Care for this, since it died on me. The few things I don't like about this display: 1) it doesn't have a on/off button. 2) All settings on it have to be done from the computer 3) It can only be used with the newest of Apple desktops and laptops. I use it with my late 2008 unibody 15" Macbook Pro. GREAT display though. Only 3 bad things.
