UPDATE - so the problem that caused my random ignition firing turned out to be the transmitting of internet signals over the power lines. The specific device that I had is listed below. After removing them, the problem was completely resolved.

TRENDnet Powerline 500 AV Mini Network Starter Kit, Includes 2 x TPL-406E Adapters, TPL-406E2K

TURN UP VOLUME. Post your comments below if you have had this problem, and if resolved, how. Bought this cooktop new. The ignition would randomly fire, whether cooking or not. We could hear it in other rooms and even in the middle of the night. Service came out 3 times and said they replaced every single part in the unit except for the sheet metal. Problem continues to this day. Video taken on Jan 23, 2017. Purchased new on Feb 20, 2015.

Interesting. Did you ever try plugging the cooktop into a surge protector power strip? Since powerline adapters don't work as well on surge protectors, I wonder if plugging your cooktop into one would shield it from the interference?
