My situation is I’m covered by my employer but to insure my 4 kids I found a better cheaper plan on the open market. I had to add myself to the kids plan because there needed to be an adult on the plan, so now I’m double covered and don’t know if I’m allowed to use them in tandem. Also the plan I pay for has no deductible vs. a $1500 deductible through my employer insurance. So if I got to choose, I would go with my private plan. Any advice would be appreciated.

Which insurance would be primary if I was let go from company 1 but had continued coverage till the end of the year and then I got coverage with company 2 after I got a new job.

What if both spouses work for the same employer?

Both my husband and I work for the VA and our families currently covered under my husband, and I don’t carry insurance at all. We have a special needs daughter who has a lot of therapies and medical expenses and I’m looking into how I could add employer insurance under my name but the only person needing a secondary insurance is our daughter. How could that work?

My employer will reimburse me a specific amount towards my insurance. I have found a dental and eye insurance plan I like with Anthem, and a health insurance plan I like with United. Will the insurance world allow me to purchase each plan or do I have to be insured under only one provider?

So in the case where the two plans are a parent sponsored one and an employer sponsored one, which would be the primary? I’m assuming the employer sponsored plan?

What if I have PPO and my wife has HMO?.. I want my wife's HMO to cover her and our children and the PPO to just cover me. Will that work that way?
