I just heard Elisabeth Elliot make reference to this hymn in a message given several years before she passed called, “Make Yourself Small: Meekness.” I had to find it to understand the reference and how blessed we are to have the Spirit to guide us into purity, since we have such a meek and lowly Savior who will one day look upon us. I want to be like Jesus. Amen.
