2022 has been a bad year for Byju's, the world's most valued EdTech company and India's most valued start-up. From teaching a stadium of students a few years ago to owning Byju's, founder Byju Raveendran & his wife Divya Gokulnath have come a long way. But now, be it layoffs, problems in revenue recognition, scrutiny over aggressive sales, or mounting losses, Byju's is dousing one fire after another. Here's a comprehensive account of how Byju's stunning rise followed by the cracks and why its survival is crucial for the Indian startup ecosystem.

Byjus will go down as failure...They are focused on branding and marketing than the quality of content they are selling

It's incorrect to say that fall for Byjus would spell.doom for India's edTech sector. All that's going to happen is that the funding would be less and only those businesses can survive who have a real revenue generating system. Working on funding based on inflated valuations is not going to work. Those days are long gone.

Our parents so much psyched that they would even put their children in " non-existing' univs.
It's a pity!
Making elementary children to learn coding is the epitome of greed!

More is expected of Moneycontrol. You missed the most important point. Did you actually speak to any parents who are Byju customers? You will find more disgruntled clients than otherwise. Poor quality teachers, poorer quality teaching. If product is weak, no Shah Rukh or Messi can save the company.

Greed, focus only on getting rich quick.
Idea was good, delivery was flawed.

Every startup of India is a scam.. look at snapdeal, mobiquick, Oyo, Zomato, paytm, etc etc...
Kaun si company profit me h.🤔🤔🤔🤔..
Yane kitne din aur loss me market ko kharab kharab karoge...
Govt ki koi policy hi nahi h ye chor log ke lie...
Just look at the salary of MD etc etc... Chor sale...
Loss kar kar ke dusaro ko loss ko sale kar rahe h...aur last me bank se paisa lege... ultimately paisa kha jayege...
