Why did the wildlings help out the Nights Watch? I get the long night is still fresh in their minds, but I'm guessing they're still mad about being on the wrong side of the wall.

They totally butchered the mystery of the white walkers in the show and made them into some evil Sauron wannabes

Whats nost curious to me is that the nights king story is an ak ost perfect reflection to stannis' story.
If the nights king is a song of ice, then stannis' is a song of fire.
Both are led astray by a woman and both sacrifice to the womans respected "god" to the horror of their underlings.

Its a very interesting parallel, and low and behold we now have the wildlings and the nights watch rallying around jon snow, its entirely possible that stannis will need to be out down at some point, assuming he survives the boltons.
