Once you've signed up for the student discount, where do you actually pay for the thing? It just sent me an email saying I was eligible but I don't see where I pay...

Then when you're no longer a student get prepared to be bent over a barrell trying to meet the yearly costs for all the subscription software you need to continue (CC, Substance, Maya, ZBrush etc). That and the fact you're not considered a student unless you're studying through an accredited universtity or school, learning by buying courses online does not entitle you to student discount. It's not awesome at all IMO.

In the past this worked for all of my students. We use C4d at school but for practice and private projects students took this offer. It is not for commercial usage.

Bit unfair. We are all technically students of life!
Students are not the only people with low incomes so they should not be the only people entitled to discounts.
The fact that zbrush charges so much to most and then so little for a select few only encourages and somewhat justifies using cracked software.
It's a discriminatory practice if you think about it. How can you legally charge some users less for the same product based on their educational status, it's madness.

I was curious if I'm understanding this correctly. I could buy and use the perpetual license whenever, but when I want the software updated just turn on one month of subscription which will update the software permeantly even after the subscription goes away?
Then I could repeat this method whenever I feel like updating it again? I want zbrush for making character models in a game I want to make also for 3d printing as a free time hobby thing.

This is sadly no longer valid, perpetual licences are gone, and the price for the student annual licence is 73 euro or 75 dollar a year.

Whatever you do please don't ruin the way Zbrush works 😥 Maxon is relatively safer than Autodesk and Adobe. At least they have a good reputation for keeping the originality intact of the tools. But still, the users are worried 😬😬😬
