How to add Icons to Google Docs

To insert icons into Google Docs, you need to use the 'Add-ons' feature to install an icons Add-on. Search for 'icons' in the Get Add-ons dialog box and choose the 'Icons for Slides & Docs' Add-on. When installed, start the add-on and a column will appear on the right hand side showing you a list of icons which you can search and filter. Select the icon you wish to add and you will be asked to make a size selection. Once the icon is added to your doc, it is treated by google docs as an image and therefore you can make all sorts of image adjustments.

There is no "Add ons" or "Extensions" visible in my menu, just: File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, and Help.
