That last bit with Liam got me thinking of a whole alternate ending to ONE.


Liam opens his eyes on the bridge. It was like years had passed in a single blink of an eye. But how? It felt so... so real? Had none of that ever happened? Had he truly never left? Liam couldn't, wouldn't believe it. He turned back and starting biking to his old office building. Still there. He still had his job. Owen was there, too, walking slowly in the other direction. He turned back, and gave Liam a nice wave, before turning back, and walking again. Liam, petrified, bikes home, and goes to bed. The events of ONE truly went by in the blink of Liam's eyes.

Liam had a plan. He would take a plane to Bridgeport, just to see if Bryce was even real. He had the money now, after all.
Walking through the airport, Liam keeps seeing people that look exactly like the objects from his "vison" but none of them were the people he thought he knew. On the plane, he even sees someone who looks exactly like Stone, but with a mouth. When Liam is looking away, the Stone seems to be highly concerned about Liam's presence.
After landing, Liam heads to the hotel Bryce lived at, and the same room. Knocking on the door, Bryce answers with a confused look on his face. "Bryce?" Liam asks. "Do I... do I know you?" Bryce answers, clearly confused. "W-wait, is your name Liam?" Bryce questions, followed by a gasp from Liam, and Liam answering, "Yeah! So it was re-" but before Liam can finish, Bryce says, "Oh my goodness, that's crazy! I had a dream where there was this competition, and this guy named Liam was there, he looked just like you! Man, dreams really can tell the future. Anyways, what is it?" Liam stares at Bryce, confused, and asks, "Do you know a guy named Bradley?" Bryce then replies, "Oh, Bradley Silva? Yeah, I do! I can write down his address if you want." Liam, still very shocked and confused, replies, "Yeah, that would be great." As Bryce begins to walk away, Liam sees him grab a blue sticky note, and writes the address on it.

With the notes Liam had acquired, walks out of the hotel to find Bradley. Liam was just... just so confused.
After arriving at the house, Liam rings the doorbell, and it is answered by Bradley. "I don't want your... anything." Bradley says in a highly annoyed tone. "Bradley." Liam seriously replies. "You know Bryce, right? He sent me here to come check something, so let me in, and I'll be out before you know it." Bradley, confused, quietly lets Liam in.
Right as Liam walks in, he can see the laptop on the counter. As he walks over to it, Bradley's son walks into the room, looks at Liam, and walks out. When Liam opens the laptop, Bradley asks, "So, why did Bryce send you here?" With no answer from Liam. Liam types into the search engine, texty? No answer. Texty, I know you're there, Liam types again. TEXTY. No answer. Right as Liam is about to close the laptop, he notices something. Another tab opened. When he goes to it, it's a YouTube video showing the entire first season of ONE. Liam can't believe it. He turns the laptop around, showing the video to Bradley, and says, do you know what this is? Bradley replies, saying, "No, I haven't needed to use the search engine in a while." Liam skips to episode 12, and shows Bradley again. "You see this? That's you. That's me. That's Bryce. Me and him came to your house, and talked to you about this laptop. You said that it wouldn't type into the search engine, and let us take it. If this is real, than this laptop should be in Bryce's apartment right now. But it's not. It's like none of this never happened. So tell me how it's he-" "Liam?" It's Texty. "TEXTY?" Liam replies in shock. "You're the one in this video! I was just hanging out here one day, and this video popped up on the search engine. I couldn't get rid of it, so it's just been playing on loop for about 2 days now. But none of this happened. I never competed in ONE. So what is this?" Liam looks in shock. Bradley, shocked, says, "How is this laptop talking?" Liam replies,
"I'll give you 1, 000 bucks if I can just walk out right now with the laptop in my hands, no questions asked or answered."
Before he can answer, Liam hands Bradley the money, and leaves with Texty.

Edit: Part 4

It's about 9 pm, and Liam is sitting on a bench with the laptop under the shining moon, and just finished watching the whole video of ONE. Texty types, "so yeah this is what I've been forced to watch for the past 2 days" with Liam responding, "That was everything I had seen. It felt like I was there. It turns out I was just standing with my bike on the bridge the whole time." Liam, still both shocked and confused, walks to the motel across the street, and grabs a room.
The next day, Liam notices the pouring rain from outside, and even hears a little thunder. walks back to Bryce's apartment, and knocks on his door again. Bryce answers again, and this time is met with Bradley. He slams the door on Liam, and Liam hears Bradley muffled voice saying "And now he's here, and he has my laptop! That's it, I'm out."
After Bradley leaves, Liam walks in to find Bryce making eggs. Liam runs up to him, grabs him, and starts dragging him to the elevator.
"Y'know, if you want to go somewhere with me, you can let go." Bryce says, still being dragged out the door. Liam keeps walking in the pouring rain, over to the smokestack.
Bryce is finally let go at the fence of the stack, and says, "In my dream, we went here and got struck by lightning. We're not doing that, are we?"
Liam throws Bryce over the fence, and climbs over.
"So we are." Bryce answers as the two start walking to the ladder to bring them to the top.
When they make it to the top, Bryce is still highly confused with the situation. Before you know it, he's asking more questions.
"Why are we here?"
"Are we planning to get struck?"
"Did you have the same dream?"
All with no answer from Liam.
Just as Bryce is about to go back down, it happens.
*CRASH*
Lightning strikes.

Edit: PART 5. IT'S FINALLY HERE.

The duo appears in the Waiting Room, but instead of Liam seeing the boring old infinite walls, he sees Airy's cave. He can hear Airy from inside.
Bryce sees his neighborhood, and his sister. You know, the old thing.
"If the dream was right, we probably shouldn't follow them." Bryce says, looking at his sister.
Liam pulls Texty out of himself, opens up, and skips the video to when he finds Airy's world. He inputs the numbers into the radio, and it works.
They've made it.
Bryce, still being confused, says, "Why do we need to be here?" With Liam responding, "We're gonna find Airy."
"Didn't he... die?"
"A good chunk of everything we've done so far has been wrong, I don't see why this couldn't be too."
The two walk to the cave, and hear glass shattering from inside.
They rush in to find Airy's mutilated body on the floor, glass everywhere.
But they did it.
They found it.
"Well... now what?" Bryce asks.
But Liam is too busy looking at the computer.
He sees them. Both of them, doing the same things that are happening right now. It was almost like it was the sequel to the video on the laptop.
And that's exactly what it is.
Liam sits down on the stool, and skips forward in the video.
He sees [ERR]
He sees [ERR]
All [ERR].
Just then, Bryce hears a dragging sound from outside, lime something is being dragged in the dirt.
"Liam, do you hear-"
*SLICE*
*"Hello, Backpack."*

Edit: Part 6 is NOW

Bryce response in the Waiting Room, and frantically runs to the radio.
"Now... what was the number again?"
Bryce tries for hours, encountering everything you can imagine along the way (unfortunately, yes, everything), and still hasn't found the world. Finally, he tries one last time.
Bryce ends up in a new world, not Airy's world, but a huge mountain with hundreds of rocks all around. Just before Bryce is about to kill himself to leave, a blue note falls in front of him.
"LOOK UP."
Bryce looks up and sees a large baseball bat falling from the sky, and moves out of the way to let it land on the hill. And on the back of the note, there's numbers, and at the top, the note says,
"AIRY"
Back at the cave, Liam is talking with Airy.
"What was that?!?"
"Sorry, he was eliminated."
"You're even more insane than in my vision!"
"..."
"Tell me why you had the audacity to do that!"
"I was trapped in the Waiting Room for 3 years."
"W... what?"
"Those visions were you in an alternate reality. But In your reality, I never escaped the waiting room. Here, I ended up on this weird mountain place that seemed to know everything, and so it knew how to get back here. But you 2 beat me to it."
"I... but... why did you kill Soda Bottle?"
"I could see you guys were trying to stop me. The show must go on."
Airy picks up his axe, and is about to kill Liam, when he is pulled back.
*"Bryce?-"*

Edit: Part 7 TEASER (part 7 will be out within a couple hours)

From Liams perspective, Airy was just dragged out of the cave by someone. His main thought was Bryce, but it couldn't be, right?
*SMASH*
Bryce walks in, Shovel in hand.
"You wanna... bury it?

Edit: I was writing Part 7 and when I finished it said "invalid argument" and I had no choice but to discard the whole thing. So, part 7 won't be till tommorow because I'm sad, and does anyone know what that means, and how to fix it?

I liked how you interpreted ONE’s ending!
1) Liam switched motherboards between Texty’s laptop and the computer (which means that both Liam has some tech skill and both computers are compatible) to bring Texty to the computer.
2) Texty (and probably Liam) learns how the computer works and sent everyone back.
3) They *somehow* got the frequency for SF, even though the papers are gone. (my guess is that they teleported Stone to them and Stone told them the frequency by other means of communication)
4) Since Liam pulled the motherboard out before teleporting, I’d guess that they timed the kill code perfectly.

i love that no matter what iteration of ONE is, the teleportation NEVER has an animation, just there one frame, and gone the next like you just deleted them from the picture

Oh my god i literally cannot express how much i love this animation, the colours, composition, storytelling, everything about this is absolutely breathtaking. Also!! Omg it's been so long since i last listened to moon waltz i love the song so much, combining two of my favorite things in one video is making me feel so much emotion, good job!!

Because of this animation, I've check out One, and honestly? I've never seen such a heart wrenching story. I've always avoided shows/projects that are preformed in the style of talking objects because of how long they typically are (I'm pretty sure there's one with multiple seasons?), but I could never be more grateful that I took my chances with this one.

Your art is absolutely beautiful, and I can never express how much thankful I am for you introducing me to One!



Edit 7/4/2024: Crazy to come back and say this, but this animatic is what genuinely lead me to making some of my best friends. Thank you forever for granting people like like me an opportunity to see this type of media to be presented in such a tasteful, beautiful way. the lighting and perspective and timing with the music is so so cool, I like how you took the original scenes and made thing even more interesting with different composition. the visual storytelling is super fun to pick up on too, you chose all the perfect hints to fill in the blanks of long periods of time. this is just such an incredible animation and you should be really proud of yourself. the buildup of tension and music mixed wonderfully. the ending is a great addition and I'm probably going to read that fic now because you illustrated it so well. your art style and backgrounds are just a joy to look at

It's been half a year since ONE ended, but this animation still warms my soul every day. I live every day just to get home in the evening and turn it back on. These colors, the composition, I'm serious, it's just amazing. I literally live with this animation
