So happy that you, too, are holding the line on LESS and FEWER. It seems no one is using FEWER any more; mistakes abound in print and video.

Another great video, Greg! I am a native speaker and a retired teacher and these are some of my pet hates as well. The one that gets me most is people who say "different to" instead of "different from" and coming a close second is using the wrong participle especially when talking about phonecalls. I've heard even fellow teachers say e.g. "My mother told me that you had RANG last night" and a very common one "He was SAT at his desk" If you haven't made a video that refers to these, would you consider a "Mistakes made by native speakers 2"?

I've heard many times Brits do all these mistakes and always assumed it was kind of local slang or something. As for me, I found only one mistake I do from this list of yours, it's when I use "less" whereas I should use "fewer" instead 🤝

Greg, I have extremely enjoyed this video, which gave me the impulse to visit several others of yours, and after that observation, I can say, without fear of being excessive, that yours is outstanding. After more than half a century of studying your language, practicing it, working with it, reading countless books, living in New York for a long time, visiting your country on several occasions and I still feel helpless when interacting with ordinary people, particularly due to the linking of words when speaking that unsettles the active neuron that I am left with. But if the opportunity that life gives me is to have that same interaction with cultured people, ah! such a situation of helplessness becomes an incomparable enjoyment.

So many people now say things like "have went", "had drove" or "has took"...

You can also add whose and who's to the list. Who's is a contraction of who is and whose is possessive.

Greg Thank you so much for the tips. I'm not native but I love English laguage and I'm always trying to learn it better. I usually teach my friends about some of these mistakes, but they don't seem to believe me that much because I'm not native (You know it's easier to believe that a native speaker always knows more about his own language)! But now I have found someone who is native saying the same things I say. That's Awesome!!!

You could make it "10 Common Mistakes" and add "their" to the list.
I often see native English speakers using "there" when they should be using "their".

I love this video! I teach ESL and often incorporate your videos. (Thank you.) However, I think I will send this one to a few family members. The could've, would've, should've mistakes irritate me to no end, and some of the others you speak of here do the same. (I'm a grammar nerd too. LOL) How about "can" vs. "may?, " and the the double negatives.... YIKES!

Thank, God I'm not alone. I was already starting to think that "should of..." was correct.
But deep down I knew that was a mistake repeated so many times, that people took it as normal.
Things like that get on my nerves. Lol
