I have been using Niacinamide and Hyaluronic acid along with Cetaphil's night cream for 6 months. 2 days of using (only) vaseline on my face at night made it softer, smoother, even and it feels like my face is permanently moisturized. 2 days of vaseline use created a visible difference something that the other ingredients couldnt achieve in 6 months. No wonder our grandmothers used to swear by it and no wonder why a product survives for 140 years. But thank you for giving a very honest review despite owning a cosmetic brand - I can confidently say that you are a doctor with integrity and you are trustworthy.

As a child growing up in NYC, Vaseline was the moisturizer of choice, especially in the colder months. My mother would slather Vaseline on us, especially to keep our faces protected from the cold weather. It worked 🤷🏽‍♀️. Never had a bad reaction from it.

Thank you so much for this. I actually stopped using vaseline because of all these articles and misinformation on the Internet. My skin loved petroleum jelly and it has been getting worse ever since I stopped using it. I will add it in my routine again. You're really a blessing to all of us. Thank you Dr V

I’ve been using Cerevé’s Skin Healing Ointment for “slugging” for quite a while. I just learned this term and would like to note that you really don’t need much, apply a thin layer. It’s made such a wonderful difference in the appearance and health of my skin.

I have been using Vaseline since I can remember. I stopped using it in my 20s because I wanted to use more stylish and be on trend. But I realised that no amounts of expensive cream worked for my Black African skin. I decided to use it at night and when I decided to use Retinols, Vaseline acts as the base. I apply a tiny amount immediately after shower and then use my olay regenerate 24. My skin looks radiant. So Vaseline in my household is a staple. My kids use it daily.

Thank you for addressing this topic from a people-of-color perspective. Vaseline was the moisturizer of choice when we were children. Not just for skin care but for shining shoes, leather, and what have you. I stopped using it as an adult because of negative reviews. I am excited to start using it again.

I come from a long line of women who have used Vaseline for their skin. I recently started using it again; this time as a part of my nighttime routine.

Yes, at night! My skin looks so beautiful and healthy in the morning and it actually helps to clear my skin up because I get less breakouts because it protects it from bacteria.

Being a dry skin girl I need to start this and I’m so happy that it’s Dr V approved!

Yes, a small amount of Vaseline around eye area, nose and mouth. Keeps the dry skin at bay in winter time. Never experienced any problems. Easy & inexpensive!

Yes. I have been using Vaseline for decades for my lips. There were so many negative things said about Vaseline. I tried different products but always went back to Vaseline. I’m loving it around my eyes but find it too sticky for my face and the rest of my body

Yes, I have used Vaseline around the eyes 👀 and it does feel better, but I wasn't sure if it was good to use. I'm glad to hear that you approve of it. I really truly trust you 🙏

I've used vaseline as an eye makeup remover ever since I was in my mid-teens. I love how it gentle yet effective it is when removing my eye makeup in its entirety. I allow myself a little eye massage while I work the product into the makeup and feel it breaking down. I will say I am in my 30's now and have no discoloration or deep wrinkles around my eyes!! I think vaseline has done a great job at being sensitive enough for my eye area and providing that added moisture to such a delicate skin area. I have not tried slugging yet since I have more of an oily skin type, but I have used the product Egyptian Magic to help introduce my skin to more of a jelly like petroleum based product and.. I LOVE IT.

Yes only discovered this a few weeks ago recommended by another YT Derm and now yourself :). Noticing positive results already along with weekly exfoliating. I am 53, menopausal and new to a skin regimen. My youthful glow is back :). Thank you doctor for all of your expertise!!!

I use it on my lips and eye lids ( used to have eczema on it but after your videos, have been using fagrance free and that worked like magic ). I use it for my mum who is 91 years young cos she keeps scratching her face due to her dementia. It helps with healing. I actually got the idea from someone who mentioned it in the comments section.

Yes! I'm from Africa and it is a staple in every household. So many elderly women have hardly any wrinkles on their faces and nearly all use Vaseline. I find Vaseline too greasy for my face but love it for the rest of my body for these cold Canadian winters, it seems to stop the cold from penetrating my skin.

Yes! I love putting Vaseline around the eyes before bed. I notice the difference in the moment opposed to when I didn’t. Thank you for all the information you always provide us. You are God sent.❤️

Yes, I love vaseline and has been using especially around eye areas as this is the part which gets dry very fast even after using Cera Ve eye cream. I am happy that Dr V also approved using vaseline especially around eye area. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DR. V . We love you very much for your guidance and advise for FREE!!

I always use Vaseline when I have a cold. To protect the area around my nose and lips. It really helps the skin to stay hydrated and friction free while healing.
