Hood Latch Install And Review - Jeep Wrangler JK

Installing the aluminum beefy TopFire hood latches on a Jeep JK Wrangler (07-16). Spoiler alert, I love 'em. They are only about 50-60 bucks depending on where you get them. Check google. You can find them on Amazon as well.

Install is easy, as long as you have basic sockets with and extension and swivel adapter.

I’m a little late but thanks. The instructions included with my kit said 30 minutes and you’re done. 4 hours later reviewing many videos I finally found your video. You explain that a 6” extension and a swivel allow you to remove the bottom bracket. My collection of tools did not allow me to remove the nut as I was missing the essential combination. You alone took the time to explain the necessary tools. For that I’m grateful. 😊

I gave up trying to get to the nuts with extensions and just popped the 6 tabs on the grill and popped the grill out. Was then able to get to nuts with a swivel, 13mm socket, w3/8 ratchet.

When you feel the need to modify a new product, leave it and move on. There are lots of hood replacement latches to choose.
