My hood latch cable broke on my 1998 camry I'm watching this video to see if it can help me. The issue I have is that my hood is stuck shut because my cable broke. I have removed the 2 screws as seen in the video but the 3rd screen baffles me. There seems to be a screw on my car that is round and doesn't have a bolt hexagon like head on it to remove it. It instead is circular and has like a plastic cap on it. I'm trying to pull the level inside the mechanism to release the hood, but as shown in the video the whole thing is incased in metal. Luckily the back panel is plastic. I have since gotten some pliers and ripped that plastic part off a bit to gain access to the pull pull cable. I will try tomorrow with some angled needle nose pliers.

I ordered the part but the lower bolt is not the same for me. It is a lock assembly bolt or covered in rubber and I can’t remove it. Any help?

Well, I ordered the part and installed it, but the three holes were not quite lined up properly. The hood closed properly and locked, but now I can't open it again. Hopefully I can remove the part enough to get it to open and try again. 😔

What if the last bolt is not a bolt but has a screw driver in the back side that can’t be reached
