It happened! SpaceX's Big Win the billion contract after Starship flight 5 Over ULA...
SpaceX's exponential growth is evident. Following the successful Starship Flight 5, which marks a significant achievement, SpaceX has secured a major U.S. military contract, further establishing its lead over competitors.
Although many organizations are concerned about Elon Musk’s dominance in this field, it is undeniable that SpaceX's launch services offer outstanding benefits to its customers. Despite competitors’ efforts, they have not been able to keep up with SpaceX’s rapid development.
SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket is now considered the most reliable in the history of the space industry, becoming the lowest-risk option for satellite and spacecraft missions. In addition, SpaceX stands out for its flexibility, with the ability to carry out unscheduled launches with just a few days’ notice, often replacing the planned payload with their own Starlink satellites.
Economically, Falcon 9 leads the market with the lowest costs. SpaceX is expected to maintain this advantage in the near future, thanks to its reusable technology and large-scale operations.
It happened! SpaceX's Big Win the billion contract after Starship flight 5 Over ULA...
The Starship Flight 5 marked an important milestone toward the goal of fully reusable rockets—a revolutionary concept compared to the practice of discarding rockets into the atmosphere, as other space organizations do. While this is only the beginning, SpaceX’s rocket development has already left the world in awe and admiration.
There is no doubt that SpaceX fully deserves this valuable launch contract from the U.S. military.
It happened! SpaceX's Big Win the billion contract after Starship flight 5 Over ULA...
SpaceX secured this contract against ULA, which had completed two Vulcan rocket launches valued at $733.5 million. The mission orders average approximately $81.5 million each. Six of the nine missions will launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, as early as late 2025, while the remaining three will lift off from Cape Canaveral Space Station, Florida.
Building on this momentum, SpaceX's recent win of a U.S. military contract further underscores its leading position in the aerospace industry. The Space Force categorized 79 missions into two competitive phases: Lane 1 and Lane 2.

Elon Musk will go down in history as one of the greatest innovators of all time.

SpaceX is helping the entire industry. They showed the whole world that reusability is possible and now the whole world is trying it.

In just 14 years, SpaceX has put the old guard space companies to shame.

Not concern over overpriced ula monopoly for years, but suddenly spacex cheaper and better dominance is a concern

SpaceX is "dominating" becasue everybody else was caught napping, or resting on their laurels.

SpaceX securing that military contract feels like a pivotal moment, not just for them, but for the industry at large. Feels like it could prompt a rethink on the future of collaboration between public and private aerospace sectors.

I think with the success of Starship 5 and whoever stepped on the FAA, there will be less political and govt intervention. I think we can thank NASA for this.

Space X deserves remember what merit is?

The very first launch of a Falcon 9 with a. commercial payload was and return of the booster was the moment SpaceX took the lead, and it was a huge lead.

The only question any company or country wishing to put something in space is.... "Why would we increase the risk of going with anyone else for more money?"
I'm not a fan of but how can you argue against SpaceX right now?

Too bad California wants to kick SpaceX out of Vandenberg.

Thanks for a clear, clean, music-free presentation.

The only rocket other than SLS that would comply with NASA's commercial launch services requirements for a flagship mission like Europa Clipper is Falcon Heavy. This isn't a matter of Falcon winning because it's better than Vulcan, this is a matter of Vulcan not being certified to the degree it would need to be to launch Europa Clipper. And before anyone brings up Blue Origin, well, they're not certified to launch anything beyond the lowest risk NASA payloads yet given they haven't even flown New Glenn.

Not to say Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and New Glenn aren't better for reuse, and less expensive than Vulcan because of it, but the point still stands.

They still don't get it! Heavy lift capability, 1st and 2nd stage Reuseability, very fast turnaround time from launch to launch again and most importantly mass production of starship systems will cause a massive price collapse, making it orders of magnitude cheaper for launching anything that needs to go into space - Space X will wipe out all competitors because of the cost savings and quick launch cycles - they will be the "Giant container ships" for transport to space! It would be wiser for countries and corporations to simple lease or even buy Starship/Launcher systems from Space X and save billions of dollars than continue with old fashion non-reusable super expensive rockets!

Everyone is competing to rival the Falcon Heavy. A rocket that is 6 years old. If these companies and agencies were at their present level 5 or 6 years ago, sure maybe they might be relevant. But they're not.

The EU needs to cancel its space program so it can bring in more Eritreans and Somalis to enrich their cultures and bring in much needed rocket engineering talent.

I want to go. I also have some ideas on how to reach Mars with plenty of resources,

Competence unchained = dominance. Be sure, though, that there are bureaucrats and politicians who do want to put the chains on.

I wonder if Space X had developed a super heavy Falcon rocket with four boosters. They could land all four boosters and do deep space missions of very large space stations. I know it would need engineering and a larger fairing.
