Lancia has officially made its return to rallying with an exciting test at the Stellantis Proving Ground in Balocco. Carlos Tavares, the Chief Executive Officer of Stellantis, got behind the wheel of the new Ypsilon Rally4 HF, putting the car to the test on one of the most prestigious circuits in automotive development. The Balocco facility, located in Italy’s Vercelli province, spans over 80 kilometers of tracks and is recognized for its excellence in high-performance testing.
Lancia's Chief Executive Officer, Luca Napolitano, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Watching Carlos Tavares drive the Ypsilon Rally4 HF was an unforgettable moment. The car’s 212-horsepower turbocharged engine, paired with its precise engineering, really showcases our team's dedication and passion for rallying.” He also hinted at more exciting updates coming on October 24-25.
Lancia is introducing two exciting new models: the Ypsilon Rally4 HF and the Ypsilon HF. The Rally4 HF is designed specifically for racing, powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine delivering 212 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential provide enhanced control, making it an excellent choice for younger drivers eager to step into the competitive world of rallying.
Meanwhile, the Ypsilon HF is a high-performance road car powered by an all-electric engine producing 280 horsepower. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.8 seconds, reflecting Lancia’s dedication to innovation and sustainability.
Lancia is aiming to reestablish its motorsport legacy by 2025, blending tradition and forward-thinking technology. This is just the start of an exciting new chapter in the brand’s history. Whether on the track or the road, Lancia’s vision is clear: passion, innovation, and performance are at the core of everything they do.
