How is Skydance an improvement? They've already told CNBC their plan includes a severe amount of cost cutting measures. So its a pipe dream to say Paramount is going to stay together.

Yeah I wouldn’t want paramount to go away or whatever. They have a lot of favorites, Star Trek, urban cowboy, 48 hrs, coming to America, fatal attraction, flash dance, footloose, Beverly Hills cop. Keep paramount going.

There need to be more legacy studios. This prevents one *less* place for creatives to go to sell their projects.

I like this. The number of studios won't be reduced further and the rights to Star Trek probably won't be split into television and movie rights again.

This is the best news possible. Sony buying Paramount would be better than Paramount going out of business... but not by much.

I like the brand integrity that Paramount+ offers. Having a Nickelodeon hub for all that great 90s content I grew up with has been a great value. Their new content has been great too. It would be a great loss to consumers if Paramount+ was shuttered.

Also, Sony is just the worst studio when it comes to making movies. The worst Paramount movies, basically the Bay era Transformer movies are basically on the same level as the average movie from Sony.

Worth noting is that Tencent had interest in Skydance

Once Skydance merges into Paramount, where will they license their content? That's the real question.

Sony should have given 26 billion with the ability to run the company how they want given that they are merged major projects and unsure projects should be talked over with ceo's of both parties.

Need to see what paramount sharholder has conection with sony. They could just used sony to increase the price.

Redstone only owns 10 percent of paramount. But she has 77 percent of the voting shares, which basically means she runs the company. Paramount needs to make a good deal for their shareholders other wise there is going to be a lawsuit. It is a little shady when one person has control of the voting shares and only owns 10 percent of the company.

A lot of delusions here. If Paramount was to remain whole they wouldn’t be in this position in the first place.

Whether it’s Sony or Skydance huge chunks of the company are about go poof.

Mind you Sony is huge vs tiny Skydance. They will need the cash.

Paramount studios may be the main thing for you guys but for me it's the TV division. CBS and Viacom is where i get a lot of work from
