For those of us who teach CCNA with the Cisco Networking Academy, it's going to be a mess for a year or two as many students are part-way done with their training. Weird.

I just spent four hours today studying for the CCENT, with the aim of getting my CCNA. I was planning on getting it before years end; guess this cements that.

Hey man! enjoy the content. So for me, who has not started studying for CCENT/CCNA, where should i go now? lol I am currently working on a windows 10 migration project, and have done some customer service/tech support jobs before. I have been told to skip the A+ as i'm already getting those jobs.

So what does this mean for someone that is planning on getting an associates degree as a Cisco Certified Technician?

Also, nothing new on the netacad.com as of yet but there is a notice that the site will be revamped and down for 48 hours in July so I guess that is when I'll know more about the Cisco Networking Academy.

You have until February 23 to take the CCENT. That's the same for all Cisco Certs. February 24, 2020 is when the new cert exams come out!

Some CCNPs where 3 or 4 exams before now they are only 1 mandatory and 1 to choose meaning 2 exam tops for all CCNPs

I know this brand new but in your opinion what do you think this means for new entry level people as myself certification wise. Do you think this will help us land better jobs from the beginning? Do you think this will help people get a broader wide of jobs? Is this the new A+ Comp TIA? in the aspect of it being a general knowledge of all IT

Man this is weird! I'm going in for my CompTIA Network next month guess it's a good thing I'm going for that neutral one. I do want a Cisco certificate at some point, guess I'll have to look into it next year when everything's cemented

People use the migration tool on the Cisco website. It explains how your current training will transfer over if you cant pass the exams in 8 months.

I'm on the fence about this. The 2 test method was good and gave you confidence if you passed the CCENT. You were halfway there. The CCNA exam is not easy at all and now you have no choice but to take it. People with CCNA will be more valuable but those without it wanting to get into the field are going to have a hard time

I wounder how much the new cert will cost

I have the CCNA Routing and Switching and Cyber Ops. You work to get those certs. It sounds that it will be much harder getting a CCNA with this change. It is a mistake getting rid of the CCENT as it is a good half way progress check on your CCNA studies. What happens to the specialized CCNA like sec, cyber, Routing?

I've recently have taken an interest to IT and I know I will not pass the CCNA on time so would you still recommend that I still learn routing and switching? Or should I just wait until the new cert comes out?
