Ride Rundown - Big Oly Bronco

You can't talk historic Baja race cars without mentioning Big Oly, the Ford Bronco made famous by the winning pilot and builder, Parnelli Jones and Bill Stroppe. Although hardly still an Early Bronco, this Baja winner is an important piece in etching the Broncos name into automitve history. It also is arguably the beginning of Ford's twin I beam suspension's domination in desert racing for the next few decades.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I was in HS with Schmidt kid, owners of Olympia beer back in the day. He was bouncing around town in at least a stickered up hot rod marketing version of this Bronco during that time. Pretty wild. Anyway, if you're going to talk about this rig some more, you may as well get the name right. It's Big Oh-lee, as in Oh-lympia, not Aw-lee. Cheers! 🍺
