As a Kurd who’s parents and grandparents went through years of surviving a genocide from the Saddam Era, it breaks my heart to see how misinformed people are about my people and my country as well as just the pure lack of awareness for my people. Also, I don’t understand how someone in the same position as Kurds would not support Kurdish independence but still wishes for a Palestinian independence. Ignorance and hypocrisy at it’s finest. I am 30 years old. I have seen war, we fought with the Turkish state in my city, we died, we cried, they set fire to our lands, they put us in prison, but I have never once said I am a Turk. This honour is the greatest heritage I inherited from my grandfather and father. An honourable life is above everything.
