I like that Zelda's ghost is actually an old woman, showing that she got to live her full life while the Hero's Shade is Link in his prime, whether it be that he died in battle or that he simply chose that appearance so he can fight Ganondorf in top form.

A reminder that this Zelda never had to suffer through the seven years in disguise as Sheik. She had her own story, surviving Ganondorf's assault on Hyrule, but this Link had the events of OoT, Majora's Mask, and the events preceding Twilight Princess to deal with. I'm sure she empathized, but she was spared the fall of Hyrule in the Adult Timeline, unlike the Hero of Time. I'm sure that to Link, it was frustrating to feel so alone, even if he was also happy that she was spared the trials of those seven years.
