Prince crying while he's singing is so iconic. He knew then that it was his life altering moment. I went to see Purple Rain with my Mom when I was 16. During this scene everyone in the theater was waving their hands in the air, including my Mom. I looked over at her and her eyes were welled with tears. Like Prince, she's gone now too, so it's a VERY special memory for me. 💜

As a child, I remember when Elvis died. My mother cried and cried, but I did not understand. When I was a bit older, John Lennon died and my older sister cried and cried, but I did not understand. Then Prince died... and I understood.
