As a 13 year old who has went through bullying, depression and anxiety, self harm, and body image issues, just because I was 10 when this all started doesn't mean I don't have depression. This goes for everyone, not only myself. Now I am 4 months clean of self harming. I am so proud of where I am right now. My parents don't support me, but I have lots of friends that have my back. I am so grateful to have them. My parents have made me feel like asking for help makes you weak, and this reassured me otherwise. Thanks Billie. I will always love you.

Bruh why do people think that 14 year olds can’t have depression. Do y’all know what’s going on in their lives? And yes there are those who are experiencing hormonal changes but there are those who have real problems in their life and it’s people that go
“ no one:”
“14 year olds: IM DEpRessEd”

That make them not want to open up and talk about it because they believe no one will believe them or people will make fun of them.

Some of the comments in this comment section are so saddening. I am older. I've spent substantial time working in high needs school districts. I've been to more suicide funerals than any other type of funeral. Two of those funerals the shame was still so thick that the cause of death was literally just ignored. Mental Health Is Real. Please don't ever accuse someone of faking being sad for attention. The reality is, if they ARE actually "faking" for attention, that is concerning in and of itself and deserves love and help. Billie being willing to openly talk about something that many adults (and some kids) "shame" or "push aside as a phase" is really important for people of all ages to see. I'm sure you would rather have an uncomfortable conversation about feelings with your kid (or friend) than have an uncomfortable conversation at their funeral. So be nice or be quiet ;) If you agree with this please click like or comment to push it above the negative comments, and do the same for the other positive ones.

I hate it when people say she’s ‘fake depressed’ I find it so sadly ignorant, because everyone has their own personal issues with that they struggle with.

I was so embarrassed when I had to as for help. I almost lost my battle with mental health. Never be ashamed or embarrassed to ask for help with your mental health. When I asked for help I'm not gonna lie it was hard, it was really hard. But because I did it, I am alive. I still struggle today, but I survived, and I am so grateful for that.

Everyone: Billie saved me!!!

I mean, it’s possible she did, but most of the time, people act like they have a mental health problem because their parents refused to let them go to a party
