I made this video to show how I have my Hot Blast 1557m hooked up with the hope that it will help others who may be struggling with this stove. I also added some ideas on how to successfully burn wood and coal with this stove. Please feel free to let me know what you think. Thanks all!

I thought this is one of the best videos I've ever seen on wood stoves or wood furnaces thank you.

I'm setting one up now and ordered the mods you suggested im also going to add a fan speed controller to fine tune volume and air temp during slow burns.
I have an Alaska stoker I did this to and get 24hrs out of a 4gal bucket of rice coal.

Great, informative video. I just bought this stove and will be setting it up for next winter. I got a good buy on it at Tractor Supply ($879). It was a floor model and a little dinged but nothing major. I look forward to dialing it in over the next few years.

We have this exact model. We love ours! Straight out of the box. It is about 12 feet from our house and heats it very nicely! Going on 3(I think 🤔 it might just be 2) years. We only have this no central heat.

Sir. I just came across this video, and in one word -- IMPRESSIVE! We are relocating to Wyoming and would like to know if you have specific plans of the layout to include the make/models of the parts and the vendors. I do hope you're still on line, and posting videos to YouTube. Thank you.

Great video. Thanks man. Just bought a house with this wood furnace in Tennessee. Was going to install a gas furnace but your video makes me want to give it a go with what we have. House is only 1700 sq feet with a full basement. I'm wondering if they make a auto damper that operates on the lower opening. It would be amazing to pipe that out doors and not burn already heated air.

I live in Southeast Pennsylvania. In my neighborhood, radon is a big problem. About a third of the homes need radon mitigation. I hope you do not live in a high radon area, as you are pulling air from your basement, which radon enters your home, up into the living quarters. Aside from this observation, you have a really well thought out system. Thanks for explaining your modifications!

I have a forced draft blower and a draft inducer on the chimney. It's a pretty safe system. I have the same Honeywell temp control unit and it has a safety shutoff for the forced draft system.

Why do you have a manual in pipe damper and a barometric damper?
