Why do devs hate no-code?

Anytime I talk about no code or low code platforms and solutions I get so much hate but hear me out here...

Reminds me of my uncles and cousins, they all grew up learning to drive manual cars and were outraged when I opted to learn automatic. Fast forward 10 years later, almost no one in the family drives a manual now:)

the real reason developers dont like these nocode tools is because they are replaing them. the problem is any random person spends just a month learning these tools and become able to compete with a junior deveoper.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:

01:23 🛠️ Developers should view coding as a tool to achieve results, not an end in itself. The focus should be on solving unique problems and not reinventing solutions.
03:27 💻 Using a combination of no-code tools and coding can streamline development, especially for tasks like prototyping, reducing debugging time and costs.
08:50 🚀 No-code doesn't mean avoiding coding entirely but smartly combining no-code and code to solve problems more efficiently and build MVPs quickly.
09:31 💼 Prototyping and building quickly, especially with low-code solutions, can lead to faster development, fewer bugs, lower costs, and easier maintenance.
11:11 ⚡ Focus on solving unique problems and avoiding redundant work by utilizing existing solutions and tools. Embrace the efficiency of low-code or no-code

yes want to know more...low and no code... I think the main problem is the most no-code solutions are not possible to use further for greater projects

Thank you Qazi for the fantastic comment. I love your idea...

See and that's the thing, most developer code just to code. They don't actually care about the end product, or the business behind it. "No code" is seen as a threat to their livelihood in the same way AI kind of is. It's kind of like telling a Mathematician that I can solve their algorithm with a calculator.

(Okay I finished the video, and you pretty much nailed it)

This depends on your audience. You seem to be instructing software engineers and developers who will eventually work at companies that create these no-code solutions. The next generation of developers needs to grasp the fundamentals; they don't need to cut every possible corner, cheating themselves out of a meaningful education. While we utilize numerous no-code tools in my workplace, that's not what we engineers use on a daily basis. We must focus on creating systems and establishing guardrails for edge cases within our apps. No and low code are remarkable, but if you're seeking feedback on why your audience doesn't support it, it's because they feel they won't be paid for knowing how to use low code (at least the higher salary jobs). We're paid to know how to communicate and build on top of existing code architectures.

However, please keep pushing the low-code solutions because startups will be heavily relying on these — but remind folk that they need the fundamentals so they can operate at a faster level with these new tools such as LLMS (knowing how to interface with AI to get solid code)

Low code is for creating UI-code and "folder architecture" (backend) as first working point for the app (first commit 🥳) 11:38

I'd love to see low code content please upload it and i get your point that it solves our problems and increases our productivity and speed of the whole process of development

People are stuck in the ecosystem. I am inspired to enter no code with your video. I don't have time to waste rather to solve and make money at the earliest. Just a question. The tool you suggested does it gives freedom to work on the code if required. As innovation requires a lot of freedom.

I'd love to see more low code content because 1) it is a good entry point for newbies to get results fast and 2) veterans to get exposed to new tech 3) professionals like me who are in semi-tech role with ideas to prototype but limited time for side projects and limited knowledge

No code tools are simply limited and there’s less chance of getting our feedback implemented. Coding yourself does help for flexibility.

No code tools are good until they become a pain.

I'd prefer coding in assembly than doing no-code. For me no-code is just downgrading myself. Don't get me wrong, it's just my mindset and doing what I like. I love coding and especially low level coding. And if I start no-coding I'll just slowly lose my coding skills.
