would love to see an in depth explanation of what exactly is the setup and the specifics of the feedback avoiding technique.

I had a old friend many years ago who did something similar to this. He had both pick-ups on a Les Paul wired into separate input jacks. Both went to individual but identical pedal boards. From modifying a twin pair of expression/volume pedals going into two Pod Xl Live processors. He was able to pan both pickups in real-time around the circle of speakers through both feet. Put different effects onto each pickup, resulted in him giving me a musical performance that I have never witnessed or experienced since. Unfortunately he has since passed away. But I will never forget his true audio engineering ingenuity. R.I.P. John Sutherland, aka Fatts.

"Hello, police. I would like to report a noise disturbance."
"Yeah, we can hear it too. Where are you located, sir?"
"Barrow, Alaska."
"But, sir, that's over a thousand miles away from where we're at."
"I know! You're closer. That's why I called y'all. smh"

It must be such a weird but incredible sensation to be sitting at the focal point of so many huge speakers and just feel your entire body vibrate from playing the guitar.

Feedback control must be crazy with this setup.

Neighbors a half mile away "Honey, where's that guitar sound coming from?" I Absolutely Love it!!

My first thought was that it seems like there would be an infinite number of random locations within that circle where a given frequency would be out of phase. My second thought was that if someone explained to me how that was not the case, I probably wouldn't understand anything they said.

my question is how did you not get a ton of feedback through the mics

I think the first thing I'd do is check that the master volume fader was set to 'three'.

What a great performance! Really nice.
And the audio set up is really sweet, too.

I’d play “Over the Hills and Far Away” right into “Overkill”.

i dont know how it is seted up, but i think the guitar was the main sound and the mics are to detect the speakers and subtract from the recording sound, or, the guitar was the subtracting factor... i've played a few times right in front of a speaker, and the wood reverberation was unstoppable imagine the reverberation with that much power surrounding him, could explode the guitar, literally.. really... that is a eye-tearing job...
