Nelda Price received something Wednesday that she's been waiting more than a year for, a handshake, and an apology from Fort Worth's top cop.

It came on the heels of a WFAA report that detailed how Price's home was the target of a no-knock drug raid fueled by bad intel.

The report explained how Price was seeking answers regarding how she and her elderly husband were believed to be engaged in crime, specifically narcotics.

"It took over a year for us to get to this point today, and we talked about how the city could do things better in terms of apologizing when they make mistakes," said Price's attorney Kay Van Wey.

I wonder how the chief would handle a situation if someone broke into his home??? I bet he would shoot them. But he thinks its ok for his officers to do it to the citizens.

It is beyond disgusting ...a year to apologize!! I do believe that kind of trauma to a sick elderly man definately led to his demise!!

He can keep his apology. My husband's life would be worth more than those two words.

Cute, an apology. How about some real consequences?

She shouldn't trust that police chief any further than she can throw him.

That sorry apology is NOT ENOUGH! Those Satanic police officers & all involved should be

Why accept his apology. Won't bring her husband back.

Apology is cool but a check or wire transfer would have been real nice.

"I'm sorry" Too little too late, what they did can never be taken back so sorry just never cuts it, jail time for those involved may help make sure it never happens again.

She needs an attorney that will demand the necessary evidence that she needs to file her lawsuit against them. this attorney isn't doing it. they are looking to stonewall as long and strong as possible.

So now they are listening! What about compensation for pain and undue stress? More transparency, Everything is a covert operation and no one seems to have answers. Citizens deserve better from those that claim to protect and serve.

What kind of police department doesn't investigate before you bust in someone's home? 1 day and you would have seen who was coming and going... This is a joke

Mrs. Price is so gracious. I don't know if I could be that forgiving.

I hope this isnt the end to this story. This woman deserves so much more than a forced apology. Monetary compensation is also a must. Bless her for being so strong and accepting even after all that was taken from her. I feel so sorry for her loss 🙏

It is about time! Someone needs to take responsibility for this mess. It hurts even to hear this story.

They're old people, geez, no need to play hard ball with them. Imagine being placed in handcuffs in your yard while neighbors are looking and you're a senior citizen with health problems? 😳 My anxiety would go through the roof.

I know exactly how it happened. It was people who call police with bad information and causing harm and even death to INNOCENT people. The cops need to do their jobs and go after the people who keep prank calling them and giving them wrong information.
