It might also be acknowledged that LIFE is not on the agenda of Military psyche. This is when we as humans lost our focus

take care of yourself, they are lying to you about everything.

That’s right, nobody in our world is responsible for anything they do. Why do you think we always have to sign waivers. Evidently, the weight on your shoulders is not heavy enough to cause you to be responsible! BTW what truth is that!!

His rapid eye movements tell us everything; he feels responsible but will never admit it even to himself. The lack of accountability; by saying no one is responsible, will ensure this will happen again.

Take the following steps to make sure that this incident doesn't happen again.

Authorities never hold themselves responsible, that's why they're there, to shield.the organization, particularly the upper echelon.

These commanders act up. Power trip is pathetic.

Joining the Seals equals "sign the waiver" that you could die during training, during missions during your career.. Seals are the top of the top... sad but true.. I am sure this feels bad and would have done everything he could but life isn't always fair.

You would have to be there to judge! BUDS is tough and the DI can help or hurt, depending on what he is trying to do.

I know nothing of this situation. Only if life in the Army stateside in the late 90’s:

If we went 82 days without a casualty/fatality, the whole base got a 3-day weekend. If we went 101 days, we got a 4-day weekend.

In my three years, there were a handful of 3-days. One 4-day.

That was peacetime stateside.

It’s a dangerous job doing dangerous things handling dangerous equipment with dangerous people (and I mean that last in the context of capability)

This comment section seemed to need a little bit of insight. And now I’ll go educate myself on the situation and see if I look like a fool.

Its sad they would automatically assume that it was his fault.. they disregarded his feelings. Unless i am missing something?

Why not also scarfice and kick out to one NCO and one officer so we all can appreciate the tragedy equally. maybe even harsher punishment.

This trainees death is tragic. That said, there’s a story I’ve heard about the British equivalent the SAS. The SAS trainee died. The CO spoke to his senior NCO and asked him what he felt about it. The NCO said that though tragic, it was God’s way of saying he wasn’t cut out for the SAS. It seems cold. But, they will be training for combat missions in the worst of environments. The training must not be watered down. I do believe reasonable measures should be taken to mitigate serious injury or death, but given the nature of their mission, chances are never going to ever be zero.

God damn, why is every Navy Seal hot?

Not taking responsibility must be part of the training he received.

They’re training to be the toughest men on the planet. If some casualties don’t occur the training is substandard. PERIOD. This is the way of the warrior.

Its no ones fault because he was responsible for his own life, its the military and some may die becoming warriors. Do i agree with the system? Of course not. But the way its setup, its not this general or sargeants fault and the lady is just trying to create drama by blaming him as if she is the person who has to resolve this by blaming someone

The problem is they say that they're the best and they're not that's just the truth they're always calling army rangers or Delta to come save them Marcus luttrell the lone survivor he survived because he ran and left his three buddies there is literally drone footage so the Navy gave him that cover story because it was too embarrassing for the Navy to just come out and say the truth that we have a Navy SEAL on video running and leaving his three buddies behind you think you're falling down three cliffs and your weapon just miraculously always lands right on you know he ran that's why you didn't know where the bodies were when they finally found my axelson it was like 10 days later and they said he was only dead for a day or two

What a failure to accept his toxic hyper-masculine contouring of the seals training. The tone is set at the top. And he created that disaster. When everyone is taking drugs and supplements in direct contravention of the Navy Rules, and nothing is done, that is dereliction of duty. When you wash out candidates who should have passed, you are failing in your duty to supply proper replacements for the Seals, again dereliction, and when your deliberate conversion of a program designed to train and turn it into a testosterone celebration, and results in the death of a Sailor, you should be stripped of your rank and sent to Leavenworth.
