When are we getting the raise to above poverty? It doesn't matter if you worked 40 years if your wages were low, your social security is low, also. I worked over 30 years and there is no way to live off my earnings. I wouldn't even have enough for insurances let alone food, property taxes, and clothing let alone doctor visits and meds. Pitiful the way seniors are regarded.

I get $ 1029 a year. I live by myself. Every week I get farther behind in my Bill's. Gas prices.are up to $ 3.49 a gallon. It was only a couple years ago that SSI didn't get ANY increase at all for 3 years. We should get all that with this increase too

$50 means nothing. Cost over $10 just to buy one little chicken in the grocery store

Do the calculation on a $505 ssi check. Many are below poverty level.

Our net will be even lower. Medicare part B is going up $10 and gas and food and other goods that we have to pay for daily, are soaring. Way beyond 1982 prices. We need to be brought up above poverty level. Many seniors only get $500 and even less per month!

The raise for the 5.9 should be for everyone like Biden an Bernie said because people who had like Stroke to or other sickness where they had to take Social Security early are going to get screwed out of a lot of money where it couldn, t be helped everyone should get the same.

Wow that is nothing Medicare will take what ever we get every time we get an increase we need enough to live off of mine doesn’t even cover rent and I don’t pay as much as most people looking to love in my car so I can maybe afford to live.

The real shame about this increase (the formula is built into the law to keep the politics out of it) is the BIG increase has yet to come.
