I like how this starts out simple, but ends up sounding like a parade by the end.

I really love how the instrumental builds up over time.

Me at 2 am: okay time to go to bed

Echoing in my brain like a voice from a cavern:

When I first heard this song I always imagined Murdoc just tapping out the little drum beat in the beginning and then pointing to 2D to do the synthy kind of stuff and they are both just jammin out being ok and it just humbled me in some kind of way. I think maybe thats why I genuinely love this song.

I think I understand why this song gets a lot of flack from Gorillaz fans, especially within the context of Plastic Beach. But it's not half bad in my opinion. The little touches in the instrumental really do it for me. The vocal modulations that come in, that little droning by Damon behind Mos Def, those synths, that dry marimba bass line, the gradual addition of live brass and drums, the inconspicuous, groovy shift from 3/4 to 4/4 with a polyrhythm (polymeter?) continuing in the i really could go on for a while. Something about this is just so smooth. A little repetitive, yeah, but I don't mind. Again, I just look to the instrumental.

gorillaz have tons of underrated songs, but this is one of the rare cases in which the song is underrated by the own fans

Each time they deliver any of these

"There's math and there's dealers and players and me. They say that they winners ok well let's see"

"Aim high why not?"

"Each and every all o' y'alls"

I get an eargasm.

There are no bad Gorillaz songs, you're just not ready for them yet

Experimental music is not supposed to be a crowd pleaser. If its controversial than it's doing it's job

When the song started I thought "This is awful", then by the end I loved it. It's so weird.

I forget this song exists for years at a time every so often, and then, I have a compulsive urge to shout

Note a subtle pause at 3:05 before 'then players then me'. At the opposite of what has been going for the whole song at this verse. Beautiful.

I only learned recently people don’t like this song, I find it wild that people don’t like it, the way it gets progressively more intense is just amazing to me

Never really was a fan of this song. Until I heard it live last week, now it's really grown on me and seeing the band behind it put their effort and love into it makes it all the better! Plastic Beach really is a gold mine of gorillaz

I think the song is supposed to make the listener feel like they're in a casino - the song starts slow, but builds slowly, even getting frantic by the end. The repetition is like you're playing the slots, doing the same thing over and over, hoping that you'll catch a break.
