Smite: Whatever happened to Nemesis (old)

Taking a closer look at what happened to Nemesis in season 2. Going through various nerfs, buffs to other characters, changes to items and so on. With her generally being considered a low tier character (B-C Tier), it's quite interesting to take a step back and check out what led to this, when at the end of season 1, she was still a strong god.

Pretty cool. Some gods just kind of disappear without being directly nerfed. I like seeing a good explaination of how it happened.

Ideas for future videos: Loki, Cupid, Chronos, Anhur, Arachne, Aphrodite, Artemis, Bastet, Cabrakan, Chang'e, Ra, Tyr, Vamana.

Maybe also the reverse video? What happened to bring a character to the top? Especially those that kinda secretly showed up at the top without any obvious buff.

I main her as my assassin. My build:

1st Item: Frostbound Hammer
2nd Item: Ritual Dagger (I use this over the Boots)
3rd Item: Runeforged Hammer
4th Item: Stonecutters Sword
5th Item: Qin's Sais
6th Item: Hastened Fatalis

I love Nemesis and seing her in this place just hurts me. So i'm awaiting patiently for season 3 buffs or reworks.

What Nemesis actually needs: more scaling on her 2, shield removes CC, add a cripple to her kit so she doesn't rely on slows alone. She's a pushover now which is sad because I main her. The kit is okay, it just needs some improvements to compare with other assassins.. an entire rework is not necessary. Even so, I still use her a lot. Underdogs are very appealing to me when I make them work.

One change that you didn't mention: Junglers now have to rotate to mid rapidly and help take the mid camps, and nemesis has awful mid camp clear compared to most other junglers. If you drop both mid camps, the enemy mid/jungle will hit 5 before you do, and you'll die to the double ult.

Like with Bakasura, I'd use Nemesis so much if she was actually VIABLE. She looks so fun. I would like to see a 'Whatever happened to Vamana?' video though, Vamana is hardly used now.

I agree, Bae-mesis needs either a buff or a kit change. It's sad to see her less in this meta since she was the first god I ever mastered and now I just play her when the MoTD is Grab Bag or Hoarder.

With Nemesis being my first and still only diamond I feel so bad for her situation now. I haven't played her in months because of the nerfs. Hope season 3 changes that

Well, it's a few months later and I think Nemesis has gotten much better. I see more people playing her and she's amazing to play now.

you made valid points but I really don't think magi nerf hurt her at all, I never seen anyone buy it on her before it was nerfed, the other team could just keep it down and it wasn't reliable to go off when u need it if the other team was any good, I think it's the poor base damage scaling and lack of a hard cc that really puts her out of favor, if she had a hard cc and kept most of the aspects of her kit I can see her being meta

Quin is good now, it's Better than crit, but people are hesitant on bringing melee basic Attacks back, except the for the full kit change on ravana.
When people realize that the Quin sia buff, and frost bond buff should be bringing melee basic attacks back they should play more.
