As a pacific islander, the thought of sailing across the ocean like MY ancestors did terrifies me. We had none of the technology, no compasses, etc, and relied on the stars for direction yet we still explored the entire pacficic ocean and built civilizations across thousands of islands. Kudos to these guys 😭😭.

When sailing the ocean it's just endless water in all directions, I can't imagine the sheer relief of seeing land after MONTHS of sailing, not just a few days or weeks!

This is an absolute masterpiece, and up until now i never realised how difficult it must of been back in the day for real pirates to be doing this daily. Takes some real skill that is underappreciated and lost in time.
