Tbh. Many imagine Excalibur as a migration era sword. I personally like to imagine it as a rehilted leaf bladed sword or Spatha with a large shiny cross guard. All of Arthur's men would want to emulate this sword so they would transition to swords with better hand protection and room for two hands, aka poto Long swords if you will

I do want to ask, how practical are any of the Armored Core mech (MTs, ACs, NEXTs, etc) in combat or just straight utility? The power scaling there is fucking mental but I feel it could be interesting

It never grew to 2 handed use. There is not one historical example of a 2 handed Viking sword, and no, the David and Goliath painting doesn't count
