Judge shopping should be illegal. And judge shopping for a judge who owns stock in your company should be double illegal.

In effect, Elon is telling everyone "Don't ever advertise with me because I will sue you when you stop" Dumbest business move possible.

"These organizations targeted our company, and you, our users"
Actually, targeting twitter users is exactly what they stopped doing.

There was an account on X with over 10k followers that appeared on my main page. "Don't click this if your sensitive". Me thinking of it's going to be something stupid clicked on it and then saw dozens of suicide/killing videos underneath which are completely unrelated to most content I actually watch/read on X appearing on MY home page.

The fact that Elon can't understand why advertisers don't want to be on it is insane. I am a vet; I have seen drones blow up dozens of people. I am not what I would call a sensitive person. I still don't wish to watch someone get beheaded by a train "for the lols".

Me: hmm, I think I'll just make coffee at home today

Starbucks: You're targeting our company by not giving us your business, you shall be hearing from our lawyers shortly

1. Elon tells advertisers to f off
2. Advertisers f off
3. Elon sues advertisers for listening to him

Federal anti-SLAPP needs to be enacted, and plaintiffs who file SLAPP suits reimbursing the defendants needs to be part of it

I work for the marketing department of a large auto group. I remember the day the decision was made to stop advertising on X. One of our sales reps had made a call to our marketing manager saying they'd had a complaint from management at one of our dealership's because they had seen an add for one of our vehicles directly next to a video that contained content that was extremely racist towards immigrants. A meeting was held between marketing and the board of directors and the decision was made that, until we felt the content displayed next to our adds was appropriate for our brand message, we would stop all advertisement. Over the following 12 months our sales actually increased, this doesnt mean we believe leaving X caused our sales to go up but we always pay attention to how where we advertise affects sales results. Even without all the objective things on X, this data alone is reason enough to not go back. Why would we spend extra money to extend advertising when we're on an upward trajectory? Our company isn't part of any of the organisations listed in the suit, I'm just adding a company perspective.

The Court - "And what are your reasons for suing advertisers?"

Elon's brain - "Don't say revenge, don't say revenge".

Elon - "Uhhh, revenge".

The one thing I like about Elon Musk is that he helps dispel the myth that rich people are rich because they are smarter than everyone else.

Twitter ceased to be a town square when it became unviewable and non-traversable to logged-out users.

I’m pretty sure Elon is what happens when someone orders a Bond villain from Temu.

xkcd said it best. "The 1st ammendment does not shield you from criticism or consequences. If you're yelled at, boycotted, have your show canceled, or get banned from an internet community, your free speech rights aren't being violated. It's just that the people listening think you're an asshole, and they're showing you the door."

In my for you tab I had an ad sitting underneath a tweet that said something like "we owe this guy an apology" and it was a picture Adolf Hitler. Not really sure I can blame companies for not wanting to associate with Twitter anymore

Wow, someone who supported South African apartheid also supports great replacement theory. I wish I could be shocked.

2:59 "These were Chesterton fences that existed for a very good reason" So Chesterton's Fence is "a simple rule of thumb that suggests that you should never destroy a fence, change a rule, or do away with a tradition until you understand why it's there in the first place. The principle assumes that fences have a purpose, were carefully planned, and cost time and money to erect". I had no idea there was a term for that! It also relates to the importance of considering the spirit of the law (and not only the letter of the law)..

This is the large scale version of "tweeted something racist and lost my job (thanks Obama)".

What whiny baby. He tells his advertisers to f**k off, and then throws a tantrum when they do exactly that.

Excuse me, how is a judge owning stock in a defendant's company NOT an automatic mandatory recusal!?
