Am I the only person who has heard the Patrick Sky version? By far my favorite but then It was the one I first heard when I was a young folkie back in the sixties.

One of the first Bob Dylan songs I ever heard when I was young and I've loved his music ever since. Thanks to my dad for introducing me to Dylan and thank you Lee for posting this song form a long lost album, only wish you had posted Mr. Bojangles as well.

Until recently, I never knew Dylan had covered this song. I couldn't imagine anyone singing it except Johnny Cash, but Dylan really does the song credit.

Cash's version didn't grasp the tragic beauty of this song.

First Version I ever heard of this song while in Okinawa during Nam. Cash's is good, but the FIRST seems to be best.

It is a shame they took the video off of Dylan singing that showed the great story because now everyone watches the Johnny Cash version instead. Dylan's is better.
