Animal Crossing New Horizons has quite a few missing characters, but none are more popular than Brewster in terms of fan requests. The Wild World-introduced coffee pigeon has had old fans and new fans alike demand he be added to Animal Crossing’s latest entry. But… why? Today, we take a look at Brewster as a character, and how he represents something much bigger than himself.

Why? Without having seen the video yet, I want Brewster because he ads a sense of accomplishment and normality. As well as a chillout zone. You could easily imagine everyone meeting in the cafe, every day. The cafe would be a central social hotspot. More than the mayors building, or the shop, or the boutique, or even the museum. The cafe will make a place feel REALLY like you can just sit back and relax.

so much needs to be added, but why doesn’t Isabelle have more substance to her daily announcements? Like tell me if Redd is here or CJ or whatever. I know I can find them on my island by looking but it doesn’t make sense to have daily announcements when 6/7 days of the week it’s rehash of non-announcements lol. Would like to see Isabelle get some love that she deserves! /rant over

It’s not only about Brewster, it’s about being able to add another building somewhere down the line; something to look forward to and someone to interact with :)

Developing a sweet friendship with him was also part of his appeal. He keeps to himself and is a bit shy, but the moer you visit him, the more he opens up to you... and I miss getting hot coco from him on Valentines day!

New Horizons was the first Animal Crossing game I've played and, honestly, I was quite contented. When I started seeing loyal fans of AC say that New Leaf was so much better, I got curious and watched New Leaf play through video on Youtube. I saw how much we were missing in NH.

NH has AMAZING graphics and the villagers got even cuter than they were before. Not to mention, we were given god-like terraforming capabilities. But wow, I missed out on a lot of super cool characters...

Everyone wants Brewster (and I do too) but can we please talk about Kapp’n as well? I love his little songs and with his role in NL, it would make more sense to have him in NH with the whole island theme thing.

I'm so upset that this is their best looking game yet and they left out 66% of the conent out

Brewster is, like you said, a perfect representation of all that New Horizons is missing. Bringing him back by himself honestly won't fix the game, it's far too late and nintendo has made it very clear all they care about is money. But what he brought to New Leaf on top of everything else in that game was amazing, his cafe was just another way to relax and live the cozy life you made in your town.
Honestly at this point I think they just need to just move on to the next game(even though I know they won't), it would take far too much of their effort to fix this one and they already have our money. In my opinion and as harsh as it sounds they turned one of their most wholesome franchises into a cash grab that I feel like they no longer care about.

Lol most people will go the Roost for 3 weeks before getting bored of New Horizons again. I love Brewster don't get me wrong, but Brewster is just the tip of the iceberg that New Horizons needs.

This made it so obvious that the soul is really lacking in New Horizons. Like where there used to be characters, are now just boxes or screens or stands. It’s laughably sad

I really miss Gracie Grace, and all the furniture sets. The furniture sets in this game are really lacking. We have a bunch of random objects but not many complete sets.

To be honest, I feel like even if we got Brewster it would just be a watered down version of him that wouldn’t include the café minigame from New Leaf.

I really want Tortimer’s Island and I feel like it fits with the theme of New Horizons. Being able to island hop to Tortimer’s Island would be amazing! And now that you can have up to eight people on your island, the mini games at Tortimer‘s Island would be even more fun!

I know people love this game and I understand they love it for what it is, but I think many others will agree that the game needs a big update. Not just Brewster, Kappa or any of the stuff people want, but something to bring back everyone to the game. Even people like myself who played it last year wanted something "brand new" to do instead of all of these repeating events that we've played last year. I know its traditionally in AC fashion to repeat events, but even so all we got this year is just nothing but repeated events with minor updates and seasonal items.

I love Brewster, but I literally just want gyroids back so I can have something “new” to collect and do (plus I just think they’re super cute and I miss them a lot)... it would also be nice to see Katrina and Phyllis again but I know that’s not gonna happen 😶

I just want my villagers to be more dynamic and have a tiny bit more personality

We have to think about this logically. If the Cafe were to come to the game what will it offer? If you look at what Brewster was all he did was give you coffee and sometimes coffee beans when he warms up to you over time. In City Folk he always always offering you Gyroids since he was always a fan of them, then in New Leaf you can work for him to serve coffee to all the villagers and NPCs. So what will Brewster's role be in this game? Well here's how I see it and this will probably in typical Nintendo fashion that may not please people. Brewster could appear as a special visitor by Resident Services where he does give you Coffee and he mentions how this is a "nice island" to live on, but you have to keep talking to him whenever he comes by.

Think of Mable when you first started the game. The only way to get her to move into your island to setup shop is to purchase enough items for her and let her visit more days to feel more comfortable into setting up the able sisters shop. With Brewster since he only serves Coffee he needs to feel more comfortable and motivated to setup his Cafe. When he does feel good about it he will probably tell you to speak to Tom Nook about it and he will give you a DIY recipe that shows you the materials to build the Cafe, similar when you first build the Nook Cranny's shop the first time when starting the game and the Campsite. Once Brewster has his shop setup the only things he can do in the shop is sell different variety of food items to you, serve you coffee, and maybe finally giving you Gyroids but he mentions you have to craft them since this game is all about crafting.

Anyways thats how I see it if that is the direction Nintendo wants to do this. However they do it will be up to them, but at the moment we really don't know how well the Cafe will function, but that is what I am guessing if Nintendo were to do it.

why I want him? Simple, loading up New Leaf to drink my coffe in sync with real life was my motivation to open the game

I know they won't - but at this point it's better to just make an entirely new AC

He brings back a strong sense of calm and nostalgia from Wild World (I played it when I was around 6 or 7)
