The Ukrainian is very dishonest. The duty of their army was to remove civilians from a war zone (and they have been shelling civilians in Donetsk for over 8 years from here).
This is what they wanted Donetsk to look like.
A Kvyv politician famously said that the children in Donetsk would cower in cellars while Ukrainian Nationalist children went to school.

3rd Azov brigade were supposed to be an elite brigade sent to relieve pressure on Avdiika. After 4 days of fighting they lost 600 men and retreated saying the situation was hopeless.
To save face Ukraine then issued an order to retreat but over 2, 500 Ukraine army is trapped and unable to retreat.

historically, eastern ukraine was a part of russia. russia has the right to defend itself.
