Thanks for the video!
I never liked Libre Office because the layout is so different from MS Office. Then, I started to use WPS. However, it takes 15 seconds to open on my machine, in the newest version. Another bug happened when I used the dark mode (I couldn't see the letters after using filter). After seeing the video, I installed Free Office, and it worked like a charm! It opens in 2 seconds. In order to update F.O., I just need to add the repository! So easy. With WPS was everything manual.

I'm using WPS office on all my machines, even on Windows-driven ones and on my smartphone, because imo it has the best compatibility with the "real" office, and it has tons of features, nice and modern interface, and that is really important too.

I run Manjaro and had no issues with them offering Free Office as default. I do think it's better that they did make it an option on install. They did take a ton of flak for it on the forums, but the so called Linux media made a bigger deal out of it than the community did. I use Libre Office though, and prefer it, mostly because I've been using it so long. I've even used it on Windows, even though I do have Office 2007.

Yep, I am using onlyoffice for last few months and enjoying it very much! It seems that its compatibility with MSoffice is slightly better than others.

LibreOffice is great because you can even open WordPerfect documents. Very rare option. Haven’t seen this feature in others.

Hello Rob Oops there are some rounding issues 80% + 7% + 11% + 1% + 2% = 101%!!!
As George would say: LibreOffice what else? :D :P :)
And I did check you now! :D
Cheers

i use and love libre office, free office is better only if you are used to MS office and dont want to learn something new.. libre office is very powerfull and i find every tool i need fast since now i know where everything is, you just have to get used to it and a vgreat great plus of libre office over freeoffice is that i can go and see the code and i know exactly what im running...

OpenOffice used to be the default in Linux in the past. I use Libreoffice as my daily driver and I even used it for revisions of accademic papers written in Ms Word and nobody complained. On my android device, I use Ms Office but it is heavy compared to wps office.

Here's something funny: my Windows 10 replaced all traces of WPS Office and MS Office 2008 (leftover from Windows Vista) and replaced it with LibreOffice.

CentOS 8 is out. Just as a reminder. I'm curious about your response to this system. Build on Red Hat sources, 100% compatible, free, stable. Additional software can be installed via elrepo and epel repositories.
About Office suites: Libre privately, but quite often OpenOffice at work. As usual depends on the needs.

You know i think office is one of the major problems holding Linux back in the business side of things ! for me i work in a very mixed environment we have mixed operating systems ( Win-Mac-Linux) and we do use a mix of languages ( English-Arabic_Chinese, etc) i have tried most of the above ( except FreeOfiice its been a while since i last checked it out) and still nothing is able to replace MS Office unfortunately ... i have tried different combinations, LibreOffice has the best compatibility so far but the UI is lacking.I have been testing OnlyOffice lately it is a good office suite so far but very lacking in terms of language support (RTL). I tell you if Linux gets a solid office suite i can shift the 80% of the company i work with to Linux within a week ! We just need the compatibility and the RTL support sorted out.

I didn't vote in this survey, but I have no doubts about it LibreOffice is the best!

As for tabbed menus, my personal opinion, I like Libreoffice because you can have the good old drop down menu. I hate ribbon, hamburger, and ribbon menus.

Has anyone tried running a recent version of Corel Wordperfect (for Windows) on Linux? I'd switch back to that if it works.

so what is most compatible with Ms Office?
OnlyOffice vs FreeOffice?

Oooops forgot to vote, I don't use office documents much these days, however I would have voted LibreOffice, it's good enough for the simple things I need to do, it comes out of the box in a lot of Linux Distros and it's open source, it does have issues with complicated Spreadsheets in which some people I've installed Linux for have experienced, and you've experienced the same with Impress (Powerpoint) if those compatibility issues can be ironed out it's a serious winner in my books. :)

My heart goes to Libre Office and I use it 99% of the time at home and 70% at work, but in situations where I have no access to MS Office (at home), Free Office was the best - UI decent, functionality also OK. So basically Libre and Free Office should be installed if someone needs to work on MS Office documents. Because of work, I have also MS Office Online, but that is rarely sufficient because of lack of certain features or some features are less convenient to use in online version (different, clunky, primitive UI).
I was a hardcore fan of LO but seeing how LO fails at work many times (not because of MS compatibility but everyday functionality), I don't think that Libre is can be a professional replacement yet. However, I still prefer it to use on many occasions and switch to MS Office when LO is not enough (because LO opens quicker and I'm more used to it).

Also, it's worth mentioning that there are LO features that are superior in comparison to MS Office but the other way around is true as well, so basically each Office suite has its pros and cons so it's good to use both because both fail at times.

I use LibreOffice or at least have. I have Calligra Office though I don't use it. Back in the day during my last attempt to retread myself I used MS Office 2000 and in the previous attempt I used Wordstar, Wordperfect, MS Word and a couple of other proprietary word processors.
Currently, I only use email on Outlook 2010 and email on an IPhone hence I am the wrong person to ask.
I kill mastodons with a large rocks for a living and I lift the Earth with levers and break things with hammers to impress the ladies.

Office? I can't get links to work properly on Linux and you talking about Office...😂 Try creating hyperlinks and working with macros like MSOffice...any competitor out there in my opinion, sucks...
