The 🤯 Anatomy of Breastfeeding ✨Bodies are AMAZING✨

Our bodies are truly amazing! When your baby suckles, it activates nerve endings in your nipples. This stimulation signals your pituitary gland to release two crucial hormones: prolactin and oxytocin. Prolactin is responsible for triggering the alveoli in your breasts to draw nutrients from your bloodstream and convert them into breast milk. On the other hand, oxytocin stimulates muscle contractions that push the milk out of the alveoli and through the milk ducts, facilitating milk flow during breastfeeding. Oxytocin can also trigger contractions in your uterus, helping it return to its pre-pregnancy size. Lastly, both prolactin and oxytocin play a key role in fostering a strong emotional bond between the mother and her baby.

Breastfeeding is incredible but not easy or possible for all mothers. Thankfully, we have food science and infant formulas available when needed.

I nursed all 7 of our babies, even our twins. Just remember the 1st baby, you are learning and your baby is learning. Your milk takes a few days to come in, so they have your colostrum till then:) Be at peace while nursing, it helps the flow of your milk❤ Congratulations on your new baby❤

One of the best things I’ve ever done is breastfeed. Getting past those first couple weeks were tough but it was so worth it ❤

I think it is a beautiful and wonderful thing that the human body can do so many things. The female can produce milk and grow a baby and has everything it needs to sustain life. That is a miracle and there so many things that are mysterious and miraculous about the human body that are unexplainable. That's God's work and we are made perfectly in his image.

But we're being told a man can do this!!!! I was offered 'chestfeeding' classes by my midwifery and was appalled! I fought so hard to be a mom and proud my body can do this beautiful thing ❤ Women are beautiful beings and our bodies are capable of extraordinary things

I was able to breastfeed my firstborn for about three months, seventeen years ago. My second born, five years ago, I couldn't make a single drop because I lost almost all my blood & had to have multiple blood transfusions from a complicated c-section. I even power pumped for nine whole months, multiple times a day & took supplements. Not a single drop ever came. I was heartbroken & beat myself up about it. Cause my body couldn't do what it's supposed to do. I had to formula feed the whole time. Anyways, I'm currently pregnant with my third (after three Miscarriages). I would love to try breastfeeding this time & be successfulat it. But I'm gonna try not to beat myself up about it if I can't produce milk this time around. Life is hard enough as is. We do what we are able to. Sending Love to everyone who needs it. 💗
