Breastfeeding Problems

This video goes over why breastfeeding difficulties may occur due to infant factors. Tongue tie and upper lip tie may lead to ineffective breastfeeding which can be easily and quickly corrected without sedation. Please note that for visual clarity, the nipple position is exaggerated (normally, the nipple does not extend past the hard palate).

Excellent description.  It's so important that infants are inspected and treated early on to allow proper breastfeeding mechanics.  It helps their jaws and face grow correctly, too, among all the other benefits.

My son did not breast feed. We saw all the docs and did all we could. Fast forward a few years it became obvious that he could not breathe through his nose. Had adenoids removed and the surgeon said he had 100% blockage. My thoughts are he could not breathe if he's breastfeeding being unable to breathe at all through his nose. I have told this to his current docs and they look at me like I'm nuts.

I gave up...the PAIN was traumatic. I literally fed my baby while crying of pain. No matter how many times I tried and to the lactation people, my baby won't do it right. So I used the pump device and fed my baby with bottles, 3 months later my mill dried :( so I used formula. She is super healthy and in the 87% of growth. There are many other alternatives to fed a baby and be successful.

I notice my son has a small skin piece under his tongue 👅 it takes awhile for us to latch but there are days he does should I get it checked out?

My first son latched just fine. Flawless. My second just could not figure it out. Period. And for some reason I dried up early and couldn't pump for him so I was forced to use formula. It wasn't ideal but it worked fine. He's the only one of my three boys who had trouble and the doctors still aren't sure why I dried up early.
But damn, you wouldn't believe the judgment I got from my Mil. Shes one of those types who believes formula causes autism or downs syndrome. She's already looking up specialists for my second because I "ruined him". 🙄

Never had a problem with my kids I slept topless with my second one he drinks all night long his dad is like I took him to my families for christmas and he tried biting somebody elses boobs so I brought him back home I thought he was hungry
